Have you heard of the Wine Windows of Florence?
Literally, they’re little holes in the wall where you can order 🍷 in Italy!
They started back in the 16th century when Cosimo de Medici passed a law letting people sell wine directly from their homes.
Then, during the 1600s they became even more popular as a way to sell wine during the plague to avoid contact with another person (sound familiar?).
Surprise, surprise: they saw a revival during our pandoozy.
🍷 These wine windows are scattered all around the city and while most are closed, there are still a few open for business.
We happened to find one on our way back to the train station, and it literally made my day.
⫸ ⫸ Would you go on a wine-window hunt in Florence? (and can I come with you?!)
