Why does it still have a foot?? 😭
This is prosciutto in Italy 🇮🇹 — dry-cured ham aged for months and sliced fresh
Would you try it? We did and it was delicious.

Be sure to check out the huge market in Livorno Italy on your cruise port day. So many cool things to see and try.

📍Mercato Centrale
One of the oldest covered markets in Europe
Easy 5 min walk from the cruise shuttle drop off.
The building sits over a canal so the boats can come under and lift the fresh fish up into the market
The building was inspired and built by a french architect and has a beautiful green coffered glass ceiling.

It gives you something to hang on, it preserves structure while curing & it's tradition. I imagine a vendor would have been happy to explain.
