Not far from the famous Ponte Vecchio in the beautiful historical center of Florence in Italy, a prestigious palazzo of ancient origins dating back to the XIV century and restored in 1566 by the architect Bernard Buontalenti commissioned by the Grand Duke Francesco I de ‘Medici.

Noteworthy features of this Florence real estate is the ancient facade of the building that is decorated by Bernardino Poccetti and was subsequently enriched by Buontalenti with two kneeling windows with the typical bat with spread wings under the sill and a door surmounted by the coat of arms of the resident family. This facade is a precious and rare example of the beautiful decorations and graffiti that adorned the facades of most of the Florentine buildings during the XVI century which now characterize one of the most exclusive homes in Tuscany. The building has a surface of 670 m2 distributed on four floors including a basement with a cellar and the third floor occupied by a panoramic terrace.

The ground floor is occupied by a garage and the guardian’s apartment consisting of a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen. On the upper levels, there is the main house. During the restoration of the apartments there was a great deal of attention to finishing and details, such as the precious wall paintings and the ancient fireplaces.

Today we are in Florence,
walking along the Lungarno,
and right behind me, you can see Pontevecchio.
We are heading towards one of the most hip
areas of Florence where the property is located.
[Music]
The property has a strategic position.
It is right between Piazza Pitti home
to Palazzo Pitti and I Giardini di
Boboli as well as Piazza Santo Spirito.
[Music]
In the areas of Santo Spirito and San Frediano,
you can find a number of delicious restaurants
and bars, not to speak of the nightlife!
So this is the perfect place to appreciate
la "Bella Vita Fiorentina". But now if you
follow me let’s check out the property!

The apartment, that we are about to see,
find itself in a historical building that
dates back to the 14th century and in 1655 was
renovated by Bernardo Buontalenti commissioned
by the Grand Duke Francesco I de’ Medici.
Its facade is a rare and precious example
of decorations and artwork that used to
adorn most of the facades of the Florentine
palazzi in the 16th century. However today
it represents a unique and exclusive Palazzo
in Tuscany. It was decorated by Bernardino
Poccetti and then enriched by Buontalenti.

Welcome to this stunning apartment for sale in
the center of Florence. We are now in the main
foyer. The apartment can be accessed directly by
elevator or by stairs. The foyer has lovely cotto
floors and exposed wooden beam ceilings, and it
is a connection point between the bedroom area,
a multi-functional space that we will
see shortly, and the living area.
In total, the property is 670 M and features
the main apartment, a service quarter,
the rooftop terrace, and a garage. But
now let’s start from the living area.
This spacious living room has beautiful
wooden floors and wooden coffered ceilings.
The space features two large couches
which are perfect for relaxing with
your friends and family or greeting your guests.
The room enjoys a lot of natural light thanks
to the original windows with handmade glass.
To tie the whole space together, is this
beautiful hand-painted wooden fireplace.
The living room connects directly to the
dining room. The dining room also enjoys
a lot of natural light. The wooden floors
and coffered wooden ceilings continue also
here. This brings our attention
to the central chandelier that
highlights the elegant central table.
This space flows into a smaller and
more intimate living area that
easily connects us to the kitchen.
Always on this floor is the laundry room
and a guest bathroom. But now
let’s check out the kitchen!
The kitchen has lovely cotto floors, and here
we have a central more intimate dining area.
The kitchen also has marble countertops
and the light cupboards bring brightness
to the space. Here we have all the
appliances one could ever need,
there’s a Subzero fridge, wine
cellar, and stainless steel oven.
But now if you follow me let’s
check out the bedroom area.
From here we can access the master bedroom
which is attached in respect to
the rest of the bedroom area.
The master suite has beautiful wooden floors,
here we have access to a private balcony and it
has its own AC unit. The master suite also
enjoys a walk-in closet from which we have
a lovely view over La Chiesa di Santo
Spirito and its own ensuite bathroom.
As mentioned previously the rest of the bedroom
area is on the opposite side of the foyer.
The bedroom area features four double bedrooms,
the first of which has its own ensuite bathroom,
while the rest share two bathrooms
on the opposite side of the hallway.
The bedrooms also have lovely wooden floors
and the most spectacular frescoed ceilings.
Now we are heading towards the
third area that the foyer connects.
Here we have this spacious multi-functional space
with an AC unit and access to a lovely balcony
with a view over la Chiesa di Santo Spirito.
From here we can also access the
rooftop terrace. So let’s check it out!
Part of the property is this 30 sqm rooftop
terrace which has the most spectacular
view over La Chiesa di Santo Spirito and
Piazza Santo Spirito, but also on the
opposite side, we can see Palazzo Pitti.

  1. Spectacular! To dwell in such a beautiful abode would be a dream realized. Furthermore, I must express my admiration for how Miss Smith effortlessly assimilates into the essence of each property. It's truly enchanting to behold her gracefully meandering through the spaces. Her hair, akin to a cascade of silk glistening in the Italian sunlight, remains a sight to behold, as always… 🙏🏼

  2. The "Medici" family is world renowned, fabulous.
The quality of these uploads gets better as time goes on.
They were good to begin with….
Kudos to you all & I wish you all well.
All the best Stefanie, I do hope your doing great.

  3. not sure why, since internet came into our lives, old bldgs and its designs have lost their utility and appeal imo…I mean, there are much better and well designed homes which sell for less that could be built w/ ease….eventually, one of these tech giants would come up w/ a self contained home that can survive an EMP, natural disaster such as hurricane/tornado, and even light mortar rounds….
