Being Italian-American, it’s hard for me to pay for Italian food because you know you can make it at home. It was great watching your Mom with the meatball. Personally, my favorite way to make meatballs is to use a blend of pork, veal and beef; more flavor and more moist than just all beef.
We love it there too!
Might have to try this restaurant out
Truffle gnocchi is always the winner here.
Jersey moms never eat Meatballs out. 😂 everything looked really good!
Great video!
We have never been there. That lasagna did look good!
Would your Mom be willing to share her meatball recipe? ❤️ My Mom made a good meatball but it’s the one item I didn’t know her recipe for and can never make a really good one myself.
Please check out Enzo’s Hideaway soon. In my opinion, best Italian on property besides Italy festival booths (just kidding)
We have dined here many times-a fnan but last year it was rough.
I have a hard time eating at Italian restaurants. I make dinner every night. I make a huge pot of Sauce with Meatballs, sausages, and Bracioles
Oh no. ARACINI has meat and peas inside
$30 for one tough meatball is crazy
Love their breakfast pizza
Absolutely loved watching this video! I'm down here in Orlando now for MegaCon. Have a great weekend Kristen!
We love breakfast there, miss the characters though. I get the eggs in Sunday sauce and the steak and eggs is also a favorite
In all the years that I have been coming to WDW I've never eaten there but, because of your reviews it is on my list for June. Thanks Kristen Love seeing your Mom and her reviews as well !
All frozen nonsense
Your mom is correct if you make a great meatball there is no excuse for a hard one at an Italian restaurant. You aren't going out for average it needs to be great. And they need to make fresh pasta it makes your dining experience and gets you to come back again and again.
Your mom is so funny! Never give an Italian momma a restaurant meatball, never as good as hers!
I just found this channel. Great review! I’m wondering if the meatball could be ordered with a request for a little extra sauce (on the side?)
I would have a difficult time getting my husband to go back to trattoria. We went for Valentine’s Day and I so disappointed in my meal.
Everything looks yummy. Never eaten sit down there because for me the walk up pizza is so underwhelming. Thanks for the update.
I’ve never understood the concept of ordering pasta at a restaurant. It’s just too easy to make at home.
The lasagna to me was way too cheesy. Yea, too cheesy. Couldn’t taste anything else. And I’m from Jersey so I like a good lasagna.
Having salad with your lasagna is a good idea, because it helps with digestion. Otherwise the layers of pasta and cheese are too rich.
Mocktail love! 🫶
We need mom’s meatball recipe! I love the idea of your mom starting a cooking channel.
Just went to Monsieur Paul last week and it was amazing! You need to go back cause your review a year ago was not good of this place. Maybe they saw your video? Our experience was outstanding and the food was some of the best in Disney! Not kidding. I do love Narcoossee’s as one of my favs but this place was awesome. Please give it one more try!
It’s pronounced Tra-to-ree-yah. Trattoria which is a non formal restaurant in Italy. The lasagna looks legit!
Hello!! So… Wondering.. will you be reviewing the Grand Floridian Tea?? Dressing Fancy again?? We just re watched the Cake Bake tea video, and we are excited to see your review !! Time to bring out the $12 gloves 😊🎉
I loved your mother's reaction when she tasted the meatball. I had no sooner said to my husband that I wouldn't order that because there wasn't enough sauce and I'd never eat a meatball I didn't make, you said that about your mom. I fully agree with her! 🤣🤣🤣
I hate that they changed their arancini! I loved their old arancini!
Long time watcher, first time commentator, but with all due respect I ate here the other night. It was not only the worst Italian food I've ever had in life but perhaps the worst meal of my life. I got the non-alcoholic berry spritzer which was delicious, yes. The bread service was below average and cold, the "hot" pull apart garlic bread was lukewarm. It wasn't inedible. On to the entree, the truffle gnocchi. This restaurant had been given the stamp of approval by many, many people so I thought I'd entrust this restaurant with my favorite pasta, gnocchi. As soon as I saw it I knew something was wrong, it was burnt on the outside like it had been fried. After much stabbing I was able to pierce one of the crunchy pieces with my fork. It was mushy, almost liquid in the middle and yet tough and crunchy on the outside. This was NOT gnocchi. I've never come so close to sending something back. I didn't have the gall. So I paired each little "fried mashed potato" with the overcooked chicken I sinfully ordered(the waiter offered to pair the gnocchi with a protein?!?! AND I sinfully complied?!). I suspect not enough flour was used but also when you cook gnocchi you boil it and when it's finished it floats and you scoop it out. My mother and I suspect that they boiled it ahead of time, left them soaking in the water and then flash fried them to order. Just a theory. Anyway, it wasn't just the gnocchi, my mother's shrimp pappardelle was barely touched AND my father's PIZZA wasn't finished. MY FATHER! PIZZA! MY FATHER!… PIZZA! Perhaps I'm spoiled to live in New Jersey and have gone to Italy many times and live in an Italian family but this food was terrible. This restaurant was so bad I will never waste my time or money on a second try. I implore anyone who reads this to skip Trattoria al Forno. There are so many other, better options in Disney(Maybe not so much for Italian food). So yea, this isn't against you it is 100% on the restaurant and I've been waiting rant here since I ate there. Big fan otherwise! Of the channel, not the restaurant.
I watched this review with interest since Trattoria al Forno used to be a family favorite (we liked the steak entrees and fried calamari). I always got the "add on" polpette, which was served as 1 giant meatball over polenta. How large? Larger than what this video shows in the new entree. And the add on was $5 and later on $5.50 or $6. It was tasty, filling, and a bargain. Now they've added $0.25 worth of pasta, removed the polenta, and are charging for an entree. I am sorry to see one of my favorite dining hacks disappear.
31 dollars for spaghetti and one meatball is highway robbery
Have you heard from paging Mr. Morrow?
I love when your mom pops up. What a delightful surprise. 🎉
What's your opinion of the Mythos bread and dip app over at Islands? How does it compare to this one for you?
Next time you are home in NJ you MUST go to Mulberry in Woodbridge. The lasagna is amazing. Their pesto sauce is also amazing and they give you complementary bread with oil and a mix dipping. I promise you will love the food.
As a UK viewer it's always surprising to me that bread is normally free with meals in the US – it rarely ever is here and it just feels like such an alien concept! In fact we were a bit overwhelmed with and suspicious of it when we visited 😂 Just another fascinating cultural difference I guess! Also, traditional Italian meatballs are made of a mixture of beef and pork, making them more meat-dense and more what we'd expect in Europe/the UK (like the one in this video). Thanks for another great video Kristen and it's always good to see your mom😊
your mom and tasting that meatball that is the best…. she didnt want to ,,, the best and meatloaf,,,lmao,,,
My son loved the lasagna rollatini
is the bread wrapped in a suduko? 9:12
Rigatoni for $31, ok I guess, but not that small portion. I'd need 2 of those
Maybe its a Jersey thing i have to have Caesar salad with lasagna too!
I visited Trattoria last year and the apps were great but the chicken parm was truly horrible. The tomato sauce tasted like they opened up a can and did not season. I am thinking they had a bad night because I typically agree with most of your choices !!
