Join me on my very first evening in Rome, where I wandered through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and soaked in the unforgettable atmosphere of a rainy Italian night.
My journey began at the stunning Trevi Fountain, one of the world’s most famous Baroque fountains. I shared the fascinating story behind its design and the long-held tradition of tossing a coin for good luck—and yes, I made my own wish too!
From there, I strolled toward the elegant Column of the Immaculate Conception, a monument dedicated in 1857 to honor the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Standing beneath this historic column felt incredibly special, especially with the soft rain adding a peaceful charm to the moment.
Just steps away, I climbed up and down the iconic Spanish Steps, one of Rome’s most beloved gathering spots. The view from the top, paired with the shimmering reflections of the wet cobblestones, created a scene straight out of a movie.
I then made my way to the beautiful Fontana del Tritone, a masterpiece sculpted by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Learning about its mythological symbolism—Triton blowing his conch shell—made the experience even more captivating.
What truly made this evening unforgettable was the walk itself. Wandering through Rome’s charming streets in the rain, surrounded by glowing lights, cozy cafés, and lively locals, felt magical. The fresh smell of rain, the sound of footsteps on ancient stones, and the energy of the city created an atmosphere I’ll never forget.
