In this first edition of #OpenBarStevie, Stevie Kim is in conversation with the prize-winning American author and journalist Robert Camuto.

Robert reflects on the termination after 12 years of his Wine Spectator column, Robert Camuto Meets…, and reveals some of the exciting new projects he’ll be embarking on in the future.

Robert’s next book, with the working title “Beauty of Work”, explores traditional Italian crafts like stone carving and weaving and how they are confronting the challenges of the modern era.

Robert also reveals his enthusiasm for bell-ringing and his enrolment at the Scuola Campanaria Verona, an association established in 1776 that preserves the local bell-ringing tradition, in particular the “Veronese system” of bell ringing developed in the 18th century.

Finally, Robert reveals 5 things he’s learned about Italian wine since moving to Italy 10 years ago and offers his thoughts on Dry January.
