Today weβre making a real-deal RagΓΉ alla Bolognese β straight from Bologna, Italy β but on a working-class budget. No fancy ingredients, no $20 bottle of wine. Just time, patience, and flavor.
This is a rich, slow-cooked meat sauce made with beef, pork, and a few simple ingredients β no heavy herbs, no shortcuts, and definitely no spaghetti sauce from a jar. This is the Broke Gourmet way: real food, done right, for regular people.
π₯© Ingredients (for 4β6 servings)
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 medium onion, finely diced
2 large carrots, finely diced
4 celery stalks, finely diced

3 Tbsp tomato paste
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes (or passata)
1ΒΎ cup red or white wine (optional but traditional)
1Β½ cups whole milk
Salt & pepper to taste
Pinch of nutmeg (optional but authentic)

Looks like at the end there I need to learn how to spell sauce lol.
Brother use a cartouche or keep a lid cracked so the sauce doesnt get too thick. I love your videos
