Tasting:
Valpolicella Allegrini £14.50 (Light, chillable red, Italians do this well so also look out for any Corvina, Barbera or Frappato, alternatively be boring and go with a Pinot Noir)
Sainsbury’s Maipo Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine £11 (I’ve been the boring one here, but Cabernet Sauvignon is excellent, keep an especial eye on Chile and South Africa)
Stellenrust Chenin Blanc White £12 (Chenin Blanc from South Africa is my wine weak spot, there are also a lot of very good Viognier’s in the supermarket in that £10-£12 range)
barcelona hola £10 (Just a very nice rosé, roseblood and Miravel saint Victoire are also both excellent if you don’t mind spending a bit more)
M&S Classics Riesling £10 (Keep going to Pfalz, it’s excellent, a gruner veltliner is also often good)
Cuvée Royale Brut NV Crémant De Limoux £10 (Cremant is the worst kept secret in wine, but you can also leave Europe, Graham Beck or NZ sparkles like Hunters from Laithwaites are also excellent!

Thanks Tom, appreciate the regular content. Keep it up fella
Can you please try the Lidl Pinotage 2025 from Costal Regions of South Africa
Brilliant guys! Always entertaining and interesting in equal measure. I particularly appreciate the Reisling recommendation – I got an 'off dry' one from Tesco a few weeks back and wasn't quite convinced (especially given the price) but as someone who usually goes Sauvignon Blanc this one sounds like just the ticket.
Not a big fan of Rose Wine , for a nice sunny day I prefer Retsina . not everyone`s taste I know
Looks like South Africa nicked Valpolicella too and did a smashing job with it!
I can vouch for the Riesling, very nice
Lime and shit, DELICIOUS
Love my dry(ish) Rieslings so I usually go for Mosel and Alsace wines, from the days when we lived over there and Cochem on the Mosel was only an hour and a half away. We usually drink Kabinett quality and higher, unless someone recommends something else. I know they often can be difficult to get hold of here but I would be interested in you opinion on wines from the lesser known areas of Germany, as in the Ahr, Franken (Franconian) and Baden etc…….as I find many very similar to many current English wines. Similar climates I suppose?
‘Which is in France at the moment’ 😂
Doesn't like Malbec???
What is the meaning of this?
Can't beat the old "British wine", as a student back in the seventies I used to drink "Concord" wines by the pint (literally). It was vile but by god it was cheap! Buckfast today is classy compared to that stuff?
Do they still make "British Wines"? And yes, I do know the difference between a British and an English or Welsh wine.
When i was first getting into wine I tried that chilean cab at 11am on a tuesday, without food and it was too much for me
but you’ve spoke about it so much and a year later i’ve really gotta give it a second go, definitely gonna grab that little italian number too
The Cremant de Limoux is £16 on Waitrose !! Not 10 quid…
Tell Fred to shut up and film 😁
