πΉ 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
πΉ 1 yellow onion, chopped
πΉ 2 large carrots, peeled and sliced into thin rounds
πΉ 3 garlic cloves, chopped
πΉ 1 pound Italian chicken sausage, mild or hot, casings removed
πΉ 1 15-ounce can tomato sauce
πΉ 4 cups low-sodium vegetable or chicken broth
πΉ 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
πΉ 9 ounces cheese tortellini
πΉ 3 cups packed fresh baby kale leaves or chopped kale, stems removed

You call them lentils but we call that Peas…Split Peas Soup. We know the dark brown pea as Lentils.

Gonna try some of these! Every time I boil chicken for a soup, it comes out tough. Don't know why but baking it first makes it much more tender.
