In the first part of Goa series we have covered – The Fisherman’s Wharf, Margao Market, Palolem Beach, Butterfly Island/Beach, Honeymoon Island/Beach and also did some Dolphin Spotting.
Since, we visited Goa on occassion of our wedding anniversary and spent our days visiting many popular tourists locations. But on the 2 day of touring the city we decided to keep it short so that we have the evening to be spent with each other at some nice place.
In the 2nd part of South Goa we are sharing some hidden gems, more local shopping market to take souvenirs back home on return from Goa and a restaurant that we loved for it’s night view and unique ambience.
1. Cola Beach – I wasn’y known to this beach untill reached Goa. While looking map to start our day I can accross this place and decided to visit. We went unprepared to this place as we were not expecting much out ot it, but trust me this is a place in paradise and I’ve promised myself whenever I am going to Goa next I am going to stay at this place, they have a few resorts there namely Cola Beach Resort, Blue Lagoon Cola Resort and more. This place is quite and not connected to main places you won’t get to be close to the main attractions.
2. Cabo de Rama Fort – While you are traveling you try to visit maximum popular tourist spots but trust my words, when you are in Goa and want to make most out of your stay, dont visit forts please. Firstly they are all over hiped and not maintained as all, what you find in these forts are the ruins and vitrified bricks. Choose to spend your days wisely.
3. Riverside Restaurant – Where to eat in Goa and where to visit are the worries we have when we travel to a new place and when it is about food considerations we try to find local specialities/cuisine. Since it was our wedding anniverary and we wanted to make it special, we decided to visit The Leela’s italian restaurant Riverside. This restaurant is setup at a bank of the river Sal and this night lights and music makes this place more magnificient. As vegan we faced little difficulties in placing our meal order but the staff was quite freindly, they made us sit even when we decided to move out and did a bit modifications to thier dishes and served us all vegan meals.
4. Colva Beach Market – This is one of happening placing in South Goa and the market is on the way to Colva Beach. This market is quite big and you find everything from local spices to Goan wears. Best place to buy souvenirs from Goa for your loved ones back at home. And dont forget to get famous Goan cashews home.
These were our first few days in South Goa, I always tries to book our stay at a quite place away from hustle-and-bustle, so we decided to have our stay in South Goa.
In next video I will share a review of our stay at Majestic Beach Comforts.
