Italians don’t dip their bread in oil and vinegar like this…
We sat down in a restaurant in Rome by the Trevi fountain, and I was so excited to order soft bread and dip it into oil and vinegar
I got some weird looks, when I ordered bread, oil, and vinegar separately and dipped it. I found out this is a North American tradition
I found out that romans eat their bread with their meal and not before, it’s for catching the pasta sauce not to dip in oil
Fresh olive oil is sometimes drizzled over fresh toasted bruschetta bread not dipped
What traditions have you found eating on cruise port excursions ?
