I’m sorry but it’s a bit of myth that everyone is thin in Italy. I’ve been quite a few times and seen a lot of very large Italian men that enjoy their wine and food too much.
I got lost in Italy with my brother, we walked for hours and eventually found a small town, it had a restaurant and people sort of graze and drink at the outdoor restaurant all day with their family. We were there from approx 3pm to past midnight, tried all their amazing food and wine, they had live traditional Italian music, dancing etc it was phenomenal
