Anthony Mangieri has spent three decades making the world’s best pizza at Una Pizza Napoletana but on his day off, he’s eating everything else. In this episode of “Chef’s Day Off,” the legendary pizzaiolo trades the pizza counter for a full day of eating across NYC. After a morning bike ride, Mangieri stops into Veniero’s Pasticceria e Caffé for a slice of the legendary Sicilian cheesecake, then heads to Hearth for what he calls “the best burger on earth.” On the way to dinner, he makes a detour through D. Coluccio & Sons — the Italian specialty food store where he shops for both his restaurant and his home. The day ends at Michelin-starred Casa Enrique, where chef Cosme Aguilar prepares something special for Mangieri and his family.

  1. Bro everyone shut up!!! The burger looks normal & fine. Y’all crazy? I bet it’s buttery soft 🤤

  2. In New York… Mexican food is like fine dining….. in California it’s street food. I think that’s the difference between the two coasts. New York Mexican food sucks. I’ve never heard a New Yorker say California Mexican food is bad tho

  3. Thought the guy in Italian store was Mayor of NYC 😆That burger is proper. Smash burgers is eating gristle.

  4. in addition to seeing the yummy food, great seeing some to these places that have anchors to the past and have been around the city for quite a long time not just surviving, but thriving

  5. When the son was talking, the editors should have had the title "owner" crossed out under his name.

  6. No. 1 pizza chef does not live in NYC. Anyone who knows anything about pizza knows this. Seriously embarrassing video

  7. Oh bummer, the cryburgers are here. If you don't want the burger so be it. But please shut up about you own personal nervosa, panic, and shallow idiocy.

  10. Dude was so worried about overcoocking the burger on camera he left it raw… Should have made two burgers and shown the best one on video.

  12. Medium rare burger is fair enough but that's blue, put it in the oven for 30 seconds or something when the cheese goes on, IDK. 🤷‍♂️

  13. I love that you brought you family to dine with you. We need to see more of that. God bless you.
