Hereโ€™s a simple but precise way to make chili oil at home.
Most people burn the chili or garlic and end up with bitter oil (assuming that is the actual taste). The trick is controlling the heat and blooming the chili correctly – Yes! There is a Chefs’ way to make a perfect #italian Style Chili Oil.

This version keeps the flavors clean and balanced so the oil works beautifully on pizza, pasta, dumplings, noodles, or even roasted vegetables.

Ingredients (For 1 Cup Olive Oil)
โ€ข 1 cup olive oil
โ€ข 3 tbsp red chili flakes
โ€ข 1 tbsp Kashmiri chili powder (or paprika for color)
โ€ข 2 garlic cloves (thinly sliced)
โ€ข ยฝ tsp dried oregano (optional)
โ€ข ยฝ tsp salt

Method
1๏ธโƒฃ Add olive oil and sliced garlic to a pan on low heat.
Let the garlic slowly bubble until pale golden.
2๏ธโƒฃ Remove the garlic immediately once golden and strain the oil.
3๏ธโƒฃ Let the oil cool for 30โ€“60 seconds so the chili doesnโ€™t burn.
4๏ธโƒฃ In a heatproof bowl add:
chili flakes
chili powder
salt
5๏ธโƒฃ Pour the hot oil slowly over the chili mixture.
It should sizzle gently.
6๏ธโƒฃ Stir and add oregano while the oil is still warm.
7๏ธโƒฃ Let the chili oil rest 6โ€“12 hours before using for deeper flavor.

Store in the refrigerator and use within 10โ€“14 days.
