  1. Approved, but eat what you want when you want it. As long as itโ€™s available, no one will care. Also even if it isnโ€™t on the menu, many places will make some simple pasta with passata for children or any changes to a dish that is on the menu

  2. Tourist got the "cappuccino rule" wrong. We don't care if someone has it in the afternoon, we also do that. The problem is when you have it as a side drink during lunch or dinner. That is savage, and most restourants won't even do that for you, rightfully so.

  3. Things to do in Italy videos be like. Only speak Italian based with correct regional dialect of each place you visit. Don't go to tourist locations. Real locals will have grown up around them so you will be a social oddity if you have genuine curiosity about them. Only eat foods traditional to each region or you're boojee or unsophisticated depending on the region. If you aren't familiar with every custom of an area simply don't go you're disrespectful if you can't learn a whole culture in the span of planning your vacation. A vacation destination is a life long commitment not a whim of fancy respect other cultures or don't bother.
Meanwhile in America everyone is fine with doing about anything. The only real advice is tipping culture and checkout Tax will be different than what you're going to expect.

  4. Is the water from the really old faucets safe to drink? Assume the water is up to the standard, how about the old pipes?

  5. If youโ€™re paying for it and the Italians are giving you Cappucino
Then do not tell anyone when they can drink it.
The Tourist is the Paying customerโ€ฆ if the Italians have a problem then donโ€™t take the tourists money.
Actually be nice to the tourists bc they Are Your Economy.

  6. Can we all just relax without all these rules? For God's sake, if you want a cappuccino in the afternoon, then have it, who cares? Why has traveling become such a science? Just go and use common sense.

  7. also: donโ€™t fall for the painting scams (people will sit on the street with printed cards they claim to have painted, sometimes even with a paint pot near them to look more authentic)
donโ€™t buy bottled water from random people selling it. iโ€™ve seen people take water bottles from bins and refill them at one of those fountains, and then sell them for a premium in the heat of summerโ€ฆ ๐Ÿคข

  8. Nobody cares what tourists do. Drink cappuccino with Parm after 5 pm if you like. Tourists are not people.

  9. what if we drink a cappuccino in the afternoon and have a nice swim in the fountain ๐Ÿคญ

  10. My parents got sick from drinking in the public fountains. We all ate the same thing except drinking the fountain so I was the only one who did not get sick

  11. I will have a cappuccino in the afternoon๐Ÿ˜ฎ
    For sure!!!
The most stupid rule ever Mama mia๐Ÿ˜Š
    ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿคโค๏ธโœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‹

  12. Buy the bottled water, the water in the nasoni is room temp and that room temp is boiling!!! Roma is hot af in summer

  13. Why do the Romans have so many hidden "rules"?! Every post they make always has so many rules. Especially about food. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  14. Please tourists, respect these place… everyone is welcome. Some people have no respect and behave badly. Rome is almost 3000 years old and and its monuments are beautiful. ROMA=AMORโค

  15. If I'm ever in Rome again, I will be drinking cappuccinos at all hours and to my heart's content.

  16. I like the fountains, but why can't anyone clean them? I'm sure the water is clean, but the basins look so filthy.

  17. I would say that the cappuccino restriction is only if you are in some chic places or in a restaurant, for example if after launch or dinner the people in your group are ordering a caffรจ, taking a cappuccino in that instance could be considered weird or "inappropriate" and could be more social fitting a "caffรจ macchiato" (which is similar to a cappuccino but much shorter and with an higher percentage of coffee).

I think the reason why Cappuccino is not really considered that socially acceptable in those circumstances is because it's meant more as a breakfast drink or as an afternoon sweet snack, to give you a frame of comparison it would be kinda like taking a glass of wine in the morning for breakfast, not as bad obviously and for the Cappuccino most people don't care i think, but it's still a little weird let's say.

And don't worry all italians know that sometimes the Cappuccino is a necessity and can't be denied no matter what the hour is, just as i said don't do that if you are in a social situation where manners are important (like in a business/job meal) or in a chic place.

  18. Wth is wrong with you US guys? Of course I WILL BUY bottled water because the fountain has no damn sparkling water! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  19. Drinking cappuccino in the afternoon is only a problem for these bloggers LOL, not Italians. They couldn't care less.
