You are in your mid 20's so you don't need to spend time to look pretty. I think the locals thought you were Italian because you are stylish and always strive to look your best. It also helps that you are of average height in a place where few locals deviate much from average height or attractiveness. I spent a month in Rome over 3 visits. If I had seen you, I would have assumed you were a model from eastern Europe and not a local.
