A new location of a popular Myrtle Beach Italian restaurant is opening – this one offering waterway views.
This will be the third location for Hot Tomato Italian Restaurant, which serves brick oven pizza as well as Italian favorites such as spaghetti, manicotti, chicken or veal parmigiano.
Hot Tomato Italian Restaurant and Brick Oven, shown here at its original location in Myrtle Beach, is now set to open its third location along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The new spot will be at 9717 N. Kings Highway, along the Intracoastal Waterway in the Myrtle Beach area.
Sam Lauren, who operates Hot Tomato, as well as Soho Steaks, Seafood and Sushi and Toasty Breakfast & Lunch along the Grand Strand, said the waterway restaurant will have the same menu but with beautiful views.
It will be located in the former Clearwater Oyster Bar and Grill, said John Maloney, operations manager for the restaurant group. The location allows diners to sit outside and view the waterway, Maloney said.
“(Clearwater) did well for a while, but the seafood market is hard to be in (in Myrtle Beach),” Maloney said. Maloney said they decided to convert the restaurant into another Hot Tomato because there aren’t many Italian restaurants in that area.
Maloney expects the new location to open this week.
The original Hot Tomato location is at 406 21st Ave. North in Myrtle Beach. It was followed by the second location which opened in the Carolina Forest area at 95 McCleod Health Blvd. in April.
The first Hot Tomato reopened in 2023 after it had closed under a different owner, but the name stayed the same.
