Herita Marzotto Wine Estates will return to the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes this September with a focus on changing consumer tastes and growing demand for premium white and sparkling wines in travel retail.
The family-owned Italian wine producer, exhibiting at Blue Village F3, said evolving preferences among younger travellers are creating opportunities for premium wines, with Asia Pacific highlighted as a key region for growth.
Herita Marzotto Wine Estates Export Director Giacomo Marzotto said: “Consumer tastes are evolving across global travel retail, creating new opportunities for premium wines. China has traditionally been a red wine market, but younger consumers are increasingly embracing white and sparkling wines.
“We’re seeing similar trends in other international markets, reinforcing our confidence in the long-term potential of these categories.”
Alongside China, the company highlighted Japan as one of its most established Asia Pacific markets, while Australia continues to perform strongly. Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, has also been identified as an area with potential for further growth.
Among the portfolio highlights in Cannes will be the travel retail-exclusive Santa Margherita Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, which Herita said has continued to gain momentum since its launch in the channel.
Ca’ del Bosco will also feature, showcasing the Italian Franciacorta producer’s premium sparkling wine portfolio. Visitors will be able to discover products from across Herita’s ten wineries at its new exhibition stand.
The exhibition will also mark Herita’s first TFWA World as a member of the Travel Retail Fine Wine Alliance.
The company joins family-owned wine producers Albert Bichot, Cono Sur, González Byass, Masi, Symington and Famille Perrin.
Marzotto added: “The Travel Retail Fine Wine Alliance brings together family-owned wineries with a shared commitment to quality and to growing the wine category in travel retail. By sharing ideas and experiences, we can strengthen the category and create even greater value for our partners and travellers.”
Herita will participate in the alliance’s networking event during TFWA World and will again support the TFWA Lounge at the Carlton Hotel, where Santa Margherita Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore will be served throughout the week.
The company will also use its presence in Cannes to highlight its sustainability strategy, which focuses on organic viticulture, biodiversity and responsible production.
Marzotto concluded: “The opportunities for premium wines in travel retail remain strong. By staying true to our heritage while responding to evolving consumer tastes, we’re confident in our long-term growth ambitions.”
