I had some dough left over from making Korean sweet pancakes (Hotteok), and it was the perfect opportunity to make something new. With eggs and ham in the fridge, a breakfast-style pizza just made sense.
Fresh out of the oven, this pizza tasted amazing! I highly recommend giving it a try by following the recipe below.
INGREDIENTS
Dough:
1 Tbsp dry yeast
1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
1.5 Cup warm water
A pinch of salt
2.5 Cups all-purpose flour
Topping:
Olive oil
3 slices of ham
2 eggs
Parmesan cheese
Mozzarella cheese
A few fresh basil leaves
Salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Dough
1. In a large bowl, combine the dry yeast, brown sugar, and warm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until the yeast is activated.
2. Add the salt, flour, and more warm water. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
4. Stir the dough to release the air, then cover again and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
The full process
1. Dust a flat surface with flour and roll out the dough into a pizza shape.
2. Transfer the dough to a baking tray lined with parchment paper, then fold the edges slightly to create a crust.
3. Drizzle the surface with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
4. Arrange the ham slices evenly over the dough.
5. Crack the eggs directly onto the pizza.
6. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, followed by a generous amount of mozzarella cheese.
7. Top with a few fresh basil leaves.
8. Bake at 180 degrees 30 min, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and lightly browned. Serve immediately.
ENJOY your pizza!
