Chianti lies between Florence and Siena and has been a recognized wine region since a 1716 decree by Tuscany’s Grand Duke, one of the earliest official wine boundaries anywhere. Rolling vineyards and cypress-lined roads define the landscape. Visit September to October for harvest, when the hills turn gold and green.
