Think France or Italy invented wine? Archaeological evidence tells a different story. The earliest known grape wine was discovered in modern-day Georgia, dating back to around 6000 BC. Ancient clay vessels containing traces of wine have revealed that the birthplace of winemaking lies in the Caucasus, rewriting one of history’s oldest traditions.
