They never heard of savory/sweet? The combo in my mind doesn't work, but I've never tried maple syrup in the combo. I would at least be open minded and commend him for thinking outside the box.
And that’s a fair judgement based on her hate for a dish she never tasted before
"Watch what happens" and cuts before the reaction.
She doesn't know what the f*** she's talking about.I've made it and it's really good
Well its not supsirisng seeing how arrogsnt joe is that his mother would be no different, just because they're italian they think they're hot shit and opinions about food are the only one that matter
That dish was very good and she just wouldnt admit it
Yeah, butternut squash doesnt pair with sweetness at all…
Tomato's didn't exist in Italian cuisine until somebody brought them back from south America.
Maple alfredo sauce is popular in New England and I have a feeling nowhere else…
It probably taste amazing 😂😂.and im Italian. Id prefer something diff. Taste wise.
I'm from New England. Never heard of maple alfredo
"Maple syrup doesn't exist in Italian cooking."
Well, screw you. You gave me syrup and pasta and told me to make something. Sorry that it's not from the Old Country.
She judged before eating it. As Chef Gusteau said, only the fearless can be great.
pasta is chinese invention and chinese has sweet pasta
Well… No shitt
What's the use of a chef in a cooking tournament that's just gonna be copying an ingredient list? Let them explore, hell, Gordon still travels the world to learn new ways of cooking shit. Italians really have a stick up their ass when its about cooking.
I'm from New England and have never heard of people using maple syrup in Alfredo
you know what's also not Italian most spices peppers or even tomatoes or potatos lmao food elitism is so weird
Yeah, because pasta has to stay traditional 🙄
By her attitude it looked like she enjoyed it but her pride got the best of her
She’s very bias thank goodness she’s just a guest there because I know theirs only three judges have a opened mind lady Jesus Christ she just heard it and she’s heavily against it it’s surprising she even taste it 😂
She liked it….
When you look up "closed-minded" in the dictionary, there's a picture of her face.
I wanted to see Ramsey try it
I had some maple flavored meatballs and some sausages once, I might as well have poured a bottle of pancake syrup in my mouth. They were awful
Love Lydia ❤
I swear Italians are insufferable when it comes to food.
Italian moms need to be loved and occasionally ignored.
Italians somehow think they are the elite of what good cuisine is, regardless of the cuisine!
Sounds like bias
Crazy thing is she probably loved it but just wrote it off in her mind
Everyone here is delusional. Maple syrup doesn’t work and btw she has done “american italian” type cooking before, so she isn’t closed off on doing non italian cuisine. It just has to work and maple syrup in pasta is like putting ice cream on fish.
She shouldn’t even be on the show. She’s not a chef.
