  1. Another awesome look at big chain restaurants that are no longer around
as always Thanks for the Memories of the Past.😋🥩🍔🍗🌯😋

  2. When I was 12, my Momma and her second husband divorced, and my Momma felt awful because we were flat broke. I found a coupon for Magic Pan, and I remembered that we used to go there with her now, ex-husband. After checking the expiration date on the coupon, I saved my allowance, and when I had enough to show my Momma a nice time, I called to see if I could make a reservation and why I was doing it, and they let me. I told my Momma to look really on that night because I was taking her to Magic Pan, and I was paying. She got tears in her eyes and hugged me. We got there, and I made sure that my Momma was treated like a queen and pampered. When I got up to go do something and I came back, my Momma was wiping away tears, and I wanted to know what was wrong because I'd fix it. She told me that the manager and servers wanted to know how old I was, and she told them that I was 12 and they told her that I carried myself as someone much older and my manners were perfect. That my manners were better than any adult's and I was making sure that she was taking care of and I extremely protective over her and my Momma told them that I had been that way since I was born. We got our dessert for free because the staff liked me, and I asked if what I left for a tip was enough because I didn't want to embarrass my Momma on her special night. They server said that it was and that my Momma would never be ashamed of me. My Momma a year later married a wonderful man who adopted me, and he told her that I needed to losen up and have because I was too uptight for a kid and I protected her with everything. I loosened up with my Daddy, and I became a huge Daddy's Girl. I still remained protective over my Momma, and now I had a Daddy that I was protective over, too. Bonanza was my Momma's, and mine's hang out when I was a little girl. Chi's Chi's didn't empress me. I ate there once and that was the last time.

  4. We had a VICTORIA STATION in Louisville , Kentucky but I never ate there . I loved
eating at CHI CHI'S and I wondered why they closed until I heard about the various
    lawsuits involving tainted food .

  5. Victoria's Station was a favotite date night spot and it never failed to impress.

  6. I know them all. I ate at them all at least once. Aside from nostalgia, I don't miss them that much. Plenty of locally owned places make vastly superior prime rib and other dishes.

  7. I've heard of few of these places and eaten at only three. Had Benigan's once…only once. Had Chi-Chi's once…only once. Both were totally forgettable. However, my family really liked Country Buffet, but mostly due to one particular host who my kids always called "Buddy". He was great.

At first, we went to the one in Annapolis, and he was usually host. That's where my kids met him and liked him…then he disappeared. Then around 2004, we moved to Laurel. First time visiting the Laurel Country Buffet….THERE WAS BUDDY! My kids were so happy to see him. He always made time to come and talk with my kids.

Country Buffet is long gone. Food was just OK, but that friendly connection made up for it.

  8. What does $8 convert to in today's money? Well that's what Trader Vics charged for a small side of rice…plain rice. Would you pay $30 for that now? No wonder they went under!
