Margherita Pizza – We had the absolute honour of dining at the OLDEST PIZZERIA IN THE WORLD! This eatery in the heart of Naples began serving the locals way back in 1738. Absolutely wonderful, traditional wood oven cooked Neapolitan Pizza. Total price – €5.00 (£4.53)

Sfogliatella – One of the iconic dishes of Naples, you must try this when you’re here. An ULTRA crispy pastry dessert stuffed with delicious orange zest infused custard. This dish was invented by some Nuns on the Amalfi Coast! Total price – €1.80 (£1.63)

Taralli – Head on out in the morning to check out the fish market of Naples. You’ll find a huge variety of fresh fish on offer. Around the area you’ll find a number of case’s and some street vendors selling some tasty breakfast goodies, including the Taralli! It’s a slightly salty donut shaped biscuit containing nuts in a nutshell! Total price – €1.00 (£0.91)

Lemon Sorbet – This was JUST absolutely PHENOMENAL! Positano and the Amalfi Coast are known for their exceptional lemons. That wonderful produce is squeezed and mixed with ice to create a legendary lemon sorbet. Under the scorching sun, this is exactly what you need. Total price – €2.50 (£2.26) As you drive into the town of Positano on the Amalfi Coast, you will find a number of street vendors selling this sorbet, alternatively you will find it in many shops within the city.

Buffalo Mozzarella – In this cheese loving nation, you may struggle to avoid the Buffalo Mozzarella, but that is definitely not a bad thing. Critical in the food scene, this cheese is a common addition to Pizza around the country. Buffalo mozzarella is creamier, softer, and more flavourful than regular cow-milk mozzarella, with a special tanginess and depth of flavour. Total price – €3.50 (£3.17)

Cuoppo – This concoction of deep fried, freshly-caught fish is an absolute must have. It is served up in a cone that resembles the old chippy style in the UK which makes it all the more delicious. Enjoy this on the beach with a view of the Amalfi Coast and it’ll be an experience you’ll never forget. Total price – €8.50 (£7.70)
