A beloved Italian restaurant in Downtown Auburn, Tre Pazzi Trattoria, will be shutting down permanently at the end of this year. After nearly 17 years of operation, the owners cited a lease renewal issue as the main reason for its closure.
Tre Pazzi Trattoria Prepares to Close in Auburn
Well-known for its regional Italian dishes, romantic atmosphere, and historic brick-walled building, Tre Pazzi Trattoria is located near Downtown Auburn’s main street. Its menu includes pasta, pizza, and other Italian dishes, along with a wine list featuring Italian selections.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant’s team announced that its final day of service will be December 31.
In the post, the team thanked the community and customers for their support and said, “There simply aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are for every meal shared, every kind word, every visit, every celebration, and every bit of support you have shown us over the years.”
Following the closure announcement, several longtime customers of the restaurant expressed their disappointment on social media.
“This is heartbreaking news. We have loved Tre Pazzi from day one. Great food, service, and ambiance,” commented one of the customers.
What Led to the Closure
The team behind the restaurant explained that due to unfortunate circumstances that are “beyond our control”, the restaurant is closing. The restaurant team has been informed by the building owners that the lease for the property will not be renewed.
While the future is uncertain, the team assured the community, “We are holding on to hope that this may not be the end of our story, and if there is a new chapter to share, you will be among the first to know.”
In the post, the team also encouraged the community to visit the restaurant before it permanently closes its doors. “We would love to see you, serve you, and share one more meal together as we approach the end of this chapter,” the team wrote.
