A beloved Italian restaurant in downtown St. Joseph will close as its chef and owner retires.
Bello Cucina master chef and owner Jason Mueller recently announced plans to retire.
โAfter 20 years of doing what I love, the time has come to hang up my apron and begin a new chapter in life,โ Mueller wrote. โTo the wonderful people of Minnesota, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your friendship, loyalty, and unwavering support throughout the years.โ
Bello Cucina first opened at 15 East Minnesota Street in downtown St. Joseph in 2012 and has since gained recognition from local media while winning awards. In 2022, the restaurant pivoted from traditional Italian fare to focus on offering an Italian steakhouse-style menu.
โYou welcomed us into your lives, trusted us with your celebrations, and allowed us to become part of your families. For that, I will be forever grateful,โ Mueller continued in the post.
โAlthough the doors may close, the friendships and memories will remain with me for a lifetime.โ
