  1. I am with Chef Z, none of the US chain pizza places are really any good. You have to go to an independent pizza shop run by Italians to get a good one. Chef Z is looking good, such a handsome young man.

  2. Taking an Italian chef to american brands making pizzas in the UK, wars were declared for less than this XD hope you guys will have the chance to go in Italia one day to taste the real deal !

  3. I fell the same as Mr. Z with these pizzas. And I'm from Brasil, we have crazy pizza flavors, but come on… these combinations… some ingredients don't even look real.

  4. Papa John’s isn’t frozen pizza. That is fresh made, hand tossed dough. Oh it’s frozen pizza cause I say it is, I’m a chef, I have a pallet, I taste things blah blah blah. Snob.

  5. Pizza Hut, I'm not going to admit, it's not my favorite. However, they were founded in Wichita, KS, with the original location being moved to Wichita State University. The reason it was call pizza hut is because thats how many letters the brothers could fit on the sign, only eight. Also used to be better. The quality has gone down the drain over the years.

  6. I grew up in the town where Pizza Hut was founded — a midwestern US town with hardly any Italian immigrants. As a child, I remember eating at a Pizza Hut in the early 1960's, when it was still decent (AI tells me they likely had only about a hundred locations, then — and a bit before the signature buildings). There was a window into the kitchen, where you could watch the cooks toss the dough to stretch it. I also ate there in the heyday of the red-roofed franchises. While I don't think it was ever great, it jumped the shark when it was sold to a conglomerate. I don't think any of these will be missed if they disappear.

  7. Semolina is NOT made from corn lol. It's made from WHEAT.

Calling all gluten free ppl– semolina is not your friend. (Pretty sure he was thinking of Polenta corn meal.)

  8. What's with the American pronunciations of tomato and luxury Max?! 🤔🤨 It's a while since you lived there right?

  9. As a 30+ year food service professional, I rarely buy Pizza from Chain restaurants anymore. Find yourself a good hole in the wall mom and pop that you like and enjoy good pizza. The Chains used to be good when it was cheaper to pay for and you could feed a who bunch of people for a small amount of money. Now they are Mid food for a stupid price.

  10. To be fair, to me any fast food pizza that isn't burnet & hard. is good. lol i grew up eating pizza hut back in the day it was fair. Do you have pizza pizza in US/UK>?

  11. Guys, you had Detroit pizza in London. I would have LOVED to hear Mr. Z's opinion of that. Did anyone really think he'd like any of the American fast-food pizzas? But take him to the Detroit pizza place with Ryan making them — AND let Mr. Z try Ryan's deep-fried lasagne. Did you even consider this possibility?

  12. Basically pizza was invented and popularized around Naples; was brought with Italian immigrants to certain neighborhoods in the US (good quality often coal fired pizza). Then after WW2 became nationally popular in the US shockingly before it was popular nationally in Italy (outside of a regional largely food). The chain pizza restaurants were popular as they went to parts of the US that had not experienced naples style or nyc pizza; so in many areas they popularized chain pizza as a new experience. Pizza hut was a big experience had arcade games, a salad bar etc, but after dominoes popularized delivery they tried to compete in that lane destroying the experience they built. Long story short pizza be complicated.

  13. You should try pagliacci, the local pizza chain in seattle. And go during december so you can try the Pear Primo (it comes with walnuts so ask for it without id you dont like them, they arent integral to the pie)

  14. You guys got the wrong garlic dip it used to be papa johns garlic sauce u nead the garlic sauce not garlic and herb

  15. ugh, hate this attitude, you immediately approach the pizza with disdain and apologize for liking anything and the italian guys leans into the closed-minded douchebag as hard as possible. ZZZZZ, what a tired trope. It's fast food pizza, judging it against neopolitan is stupid, but it's less that then the super strong preconceived notion dominating all the reviews.
