America loves Italian restaurants — so much so that Olive Garden (with its many restaurant secrets) is ranked third in total sales for casual dining restaurants in the country. But while chain restaurants tell one story, it’s the local Italian spots that Americans also love to flock to or — as is fitting in 2026 — order takeout from through delivery services.

For proof, look no further than Forma Pasta Factory in Brooklyn, New York. This casual, no-frills pasta joint was named by DoorDash as America’s favorite delivery spot for Italian cuisine. To qualify, a restaurant had to be small to medium-sized with less than 10 total stores. DoorDash looked at all the restaurants in that size range across the country to find the highest customer ratings with at least 1,000 reviews. The delivery service then picked 20 local favorites, with each favorite coming from a different type of cuisine. Forma Pasta Factory took the top spot when it comes to Italian food.

With two locations in Brooklyn — Greenpoint and Fort Greene — Forma is a small business with a large imprint in the city, and it seems worthy of all the accolades thrown its way. It has a 4.8 out of 5-star rating on DoorDash from more than 8,000 reviews, and Yelpers give the Italian restaurant a 4.6-star rating. When you see that type of consistent positive feedback, you know a restaurant is doing something good.

What to expect when ordering from Forma Pasta FactoryAn order of pipette ragu from Forma Pasta Factory on a white plate alongside fresh focaccia bread

One of the first things you’ll notice about Forma Pasta Factory’s menu is its simplicity. It boils down to pasta, one daily special, salads, sides, desserts, and drinks. Forma makes its pasta in-house daily, and the menu showcases seven different options — all for just $15 each. Pasta shapes include spaghetti, pappardelle, gemelli, fettuccine (perfect for pairing with cream sauce), pipette, mafaldine, and rigatoni. Daily specials (at $18 each) include goat cheese and ricotta gnocchi, braised beef ravioli, and lamb sausage ragu, among others.

Customers rave about these dishes, and it’s no surprise considering Forma’s lofty status in the DoorDash rankings. One DoorDash reviewer says, “Had a craving for pasta and went with the pappardelle bolognese … simple, hearty, delicious.” Another reviewer on DoorDash comments, “Best pasta and best value in all of Brooklyn. Period.” A Yelper praises Forma as well: “The gemelli pesto is incredible, with a perfect, chewy al dente bite and a creamy sauce that isn’t heavy at all,” they said. “Plus, you get free warm focaccia which is literally perfect for wiping up the plate.”

Local pasta shops seem to be a rarity these days, but Forma Pasta Factory is standing strong. So, if you’re looking for affordable, delicious house-made pasta in Brooklyn, DoorDash would point you toward Forma Pasta Factory before anywhere else in the country. For a small pasta chain with two locations and pasta entrees priced at only $15, that’s quite an achievement.
