Acclaimed Los Angeles chef Nancy Silverton has brought her celebrated Italian cooking to the Westside with Spacca Tutto, a 108-seat Italian-American steakhouse that opened Thursday at Palisades Village, offering premium cuts of beef, seafood, Italian specialties and a more casual approach to traditional steakhouse dining.

The restaurant marks Silverton’s first Los Angeles venture west of the 405 Freeway, expanding a culinary portfolio long concentrated around Melrose and Highland avenues, home to Osteria Mozza, Pizzeria Mozza and chi SPACCA.

A five-time James Beard Award winner and recipient of the foundation’s 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award, Silverton draws inspiration from chi SPACCA’s Italian butchery and wood-fire cooking traditions while introducing a broader menu designed for lunch, dinner and everything in between.

The menu includes Australian Wagyu, Creekstone porterhouse, lobster Newberg, whole branzino and Nancy’s Burger, alongside her signature Focaccia di Recco, a thin, crisp Italian flatbread filled with cheese.

At a preview dinner, the kitchen presented a 50-ounce Creekstone porterhouse, picanha Dal Rae prepared with bacon, scallions, black pepper and lemon, and grilled prawns. Other selections included a Spacca Caesar salad, beefsteak tomatoes with olive pesto, creamed spinach with black kale and melted leeks, and chocolate mousse.

The combination reflects Silverton’s approach to familiar dishes, emphasizing ingredient quality, technique and thoughtful preparation rather than reinventing the traditional steakhouse entirely.

For Paul Pruitt, co-founder of New School Hospitality, which partnered with Mozza Restaurant Group and Caruso Restaurant Group on the project, Silverton’s meticulous standards have been evident throughout the restaurant’s development. “She’s incredibly nuanced, detail-oriented,” Pruitt said. “To see her so present and obsessing over the cut of the greens in the salad, it’s just remarkable.”

“Building a restaurant for a chef of Nancy Silverton’s caliber is always something special, but being part of the rebuilding of Pacific Palisades makes this project even more meaningful. We’re proud to have played a role in bringing Spacca Tutto to life and hope it becomes another gathering place that helps restore the energy and sense of community that makes the Palisades so special,” said Greg Skalaski, Shawmut Design and Construction’s, Executive Vice President.

The restaurant’s design, by hospitality firm AvroKO, draws on the atmosphere of an Italian conservatory while incorporating the richness of a contemporary steakhouse. Travertine, dark wood, burgundy banquettes, botanical artwork and custom lighting define the dining rooms. A central bar connects the spaces, while a covered outdoor patio overlooks Palisades Village’s communal green. The beverage program features Italian and California wines, with cocktails built around steakhouse favorites such as martinis and negronis.

The goal is to create a restaurant that can accommodate a range of dining occasions, from a full steak dinner to a leisurely lunch or an evening drink at the bar. Pruitt said the hospitality experience will be just as important as the menu in encouraging repeat visits. “We knew from the beginning that Nancy was going to create an incredible bar with her food,” he said. “So our job is to try to match that and have people come back for the service.”

Developer Rick Caruso, whose company partnered on the restaurant, said Silverton’s cooking will give diners throughout Los Angeles another reason to visit the Westside. “I know for a fact people from across the city are going to come here because of Nancy’s food,” Caruso said.

The opening also expands the dining options available to residents and visitors as Pacific Palisades continues rebuilding following the wildfires. Maryam Zar, CEO of the Malibu Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce, said the growing selection of restaurants and gathering places is helping bring activity back to the community. “As more residents return, they’re finding an exciting and growing array of places to gather, dine and enjoy their community again,” Zar said. “And for those who love the Palisades but haven’t had a reason to visit lately, there are now plenty of reasons to make the drive.”

Zar said each new opening contributes to the neighborhood’s momentum. “Every new opening brings fresh energy and vitality to our recovery, and the PaliBu Chamber is thrilled to welcome this exquisite culinary addition,” she said. “We can’t wait to experience Nancy’s celebrated cuisine!”

For Pruitt, the ambition is to make Spacca Tutto accessible beyond special occasions, offering the quality associated with Silverton’s restaurants in an environment that encourages guests to return regularly. “I want this to be the living room for the neighborhood,” he said. “Come as you are, forget the reservation, the formality, just come in, have some great food.”

Spacca Tutto is located at 15255 Palisades Village Lane, Pacific Palisades. Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Reservations are available at spaccatutto.com.
