Little Havana restaurant Ciao Havana Steakhouse opens on Calle Ocho, featuring Italian- and Cuban-inspired dishes, live music, and nightlife.

Ciao Havana has rebranded as a steakhouse built for nights that don’t end when the dinner check arrives. The existing Cuban-Italian restaurant at 1620 SW Eighth St. now calls itself an Italian steakhouse with Cuban soul. After dinner and live music, guests can continue at Cosanostra Miami nightclub next door.
Gastronomica Miami, the hospitality group that operates both spots along with several other Calle Ocho restaurants, wants guests to start with steak and cocktails and keep the night moving without leaving the block.
The menu features mushroom and black-truffle croquetas, lobster-saffron risotto, short-rib risotto, and Mediterranean branzino.
Led by chef Yasmani Ochoa, the kitchen keeps the restaurant’s Cuban-Italian vibe while putting more attention on meat. Diners can order churrasco, picanha, and filet mignon by the half-pound or pound, while the current menu also offers dishes like Serrano ham croquetas, mushroom and black-truffle croquetas, lobster-saffron risotto, short-rib risotto, and Mediterranean branzino.
There is also seafood casserole alla diavola, vaca frita, Cuban masitas, and a Cubano served on focaccia – and a short-rib risotto followed by steak is certainly one way to prepare for a nightclub.
The dining room brings in live music, and a separate bar-and-stage room gives the dinner part of the night its own entertainment before anyone heads next door.

Dinner, then Cosanostra
The big draw here is the two-part setup. Ciao Havana Steakhouse sits directly beside Cosanostra at 1618 SW Eighth St., a nightclub inspired by Scarface and the Italian mafia.
“Today’s guests are looking for more than an exceptional meal; they want an experience,” Ronald Montero, marketing director for Gastronomica, said in a statement. “Our vision was to create a destination where diners can enjoy an upscale dinner that gradually builds into an energetic social environment as the evening unfolds…without ever leaving the property.”
The hospitality group controls a few restaurant and nightlife spots on this stretch of Calle Ocho. Ciao Havana shares its 1620 address with El Cuban Diner, Cosanostra occupies 1618, and seafood-driven Sala’o sits a few doors away at 1642. Old’s Havana, another group restaurant, is farther east at 1442 SW Eighth St.
