Going to culinary school was a dream of mine for years, but it definitely wasn’t a simple, straightforward path.

After starting my food blog, I found myself wanting to learn more. Not just recipes, but the techniques, traditions, and skills that go into creating really good food.

I tried local cooking classes thinking that would be the right next step, but the experience wasn’t quite what I had imagined. So instead of rushing into something that didn’t feel right, I decided to wait until I found a program that truly matched what I was looking for.

Then in 2023, I attended the Italian Culinary Institute in Southern Italy, and it ended up being everything I hoped for and more.

For 3 months, I spent my days learning about Italian regional cuisine, handmade pasta, bread, pizza, gelato, pastries, charcuterie, cheese making, wine pairing, and so much more.

But honestly, the best part wasn’t just what I learned in the kitchen.

It was getting to experience Italian food culture, learn from chefs, meet people from around the world, and be completely immersed in something I had dreamed about for so long.

In this video, I’m sharing my culinary school journey in Italy, what led me there, what the experience was actually like, and why finding the right fit made all the difference.

If you’ve ever had something you’ve wanted to do for yourself but kept putting into the “someday” category, I hope this inspires you to go for it. ❤️
