I visited Sa Domu Sarda in Cagliari โ€” a Michelin-listed,
Slow Food-recognised restaurant that has been serving
authentic Sardinian cuisine for over 20 years. And I
ordered things I have never eaten in my life.

Culurgiones โ€” the iconic Sardinian ravioli filled with
potato, pecorino and mint, shaped by hand to resemble
an ear of wheat. Pasta with pork. And donkey stew โ€”
a dish so deeply rooted in Sardinian tradition that
you simply cannot find it anywhere outside the island.

As a nutritionist with Mediterranean heritage, this meal
genuinely moved me. This is what real food culture looks
like โ€” ingredients that tell the story of a place,
recipes passed down through generations, nothing
processed, nothing rushed.
