Did you know some of Milan’s most popular dishes are made from leftovers?

Today I’m trying three of my favorite classic Milanese specialties: mondeghili (crispy meatballs traditionally made from leftover beef), contorni (simple seasonal vegetable side dishes) and risotto al salto (pan-fried saffron risotto made from leftover risotto alla Milanese).

I absolutely adore these dishes and the stories behind them are just as intriguing as the flavors.

  2. We were hesistant to visit Milan and went to Naples region instead in Dec 25 and it was one of our fav Italian trips so far.. saw few recent milan videos and will be going there next
