  1. I live in Baltimore City (north central Baltimore, about a 15-20 minute drive across the city during not-rush hour times from where you were), and I just wanted to thank you for the positive portrayal of the city and showing some of what we have to offer. The National Aquarium is indeed a treasure (as is Mr. Trash Wheel)! The silver lining of Baltimore having a "reputation" is that because we don't have a lot of chain places outside of the Inner Harbor and Harbor East, there is a thriving , creative small business/restaurant scene here. Blue Moon Cafe and Vaccaro's are excellent, although I haven't been to the other spots you featured. Another place that has that super local feel you enjoyed at Jabali is Karellas Cafe in Greektown. They have delicious Greek food, and you'll always see a group of older gentlemen speaking Greek congregating there for Greek coffee on the weekend. My favorite Little Italy spot is Benny's, which advertises themselves as having the "Best Balls on the Block" for good reason! In the part of the city where I live, you've got several great bakeries in about a half mile radius, including Doppio Pasticceria (Sicilian – their pizza is also excellent), La Maison by Cafe Dear Leon (Korean French bakery influences – get the crab dip bagel), and Motzi Bread (locally grown and milled whole grain breads and pastries). Some of my favorite coffee shops in this part of the city are Artifact Coffee and Catalog Coffee. The Baltimore Museum of Art, which is free, although you need a reservation, is a great attraction in the area as well. My personal favorite crab cake is from Faidley's at Lexington Market, but I've also heard good things about Koko's (it's our Mayor's favorite) in the Lauraville-Hamilton area, which also is where the excellent Silver Queen Cafe and Zeke's Coffee are located. I'll stop there, since this is more than enough for the next time you pass through! I'm looking forward to any MDI content you create this summer, since my family frequently went there in the summer when I was growing up, and I'm sure it's changed a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed your time here in Charm City!
