ITALY BUREACRACY WEATHER NOT ALL WINE and ROSES. BUT OH THE AMAZING THINGS that you find on the journey. This episode covers a lot of Paperwork and the crazy ways of the Italian process of paying bills, Windy Weather, Friends and some pretty amazing connections on deciding to buy an apartment by the sea. SERENDIPITOUSH things abound.
Camino di Celestino – That goes right through San Martino and right to the Coastal trail in Ortona. So it connects both of my worlds to the sea. How ironic. Who would have believed this?

Hello beautiful lady
HOLY CRAP! You posted on Tuesday! Thank you Gina! I'm as hooked on these posts just like my Mom was hooked on her Soap Operas! 🙄
Do we find out if Fausto accepted the offer? 💕
Oh Gina!
I’m absolutely exhausted after your attempt to pay all your bills, and then the renovation of your apartment, whew! You’re a patient soul, can’t say the same about me….lol! Giovanni is a gem! Thank goodness you found him! Lovely man. Sorry for the lady yelling at you for your attempt at disposing the leaves. I’m sure understanding how the language barrier is affecting you, but you will get there, slowly but surely. Awesome treat before bedtime. Thanks! So much work ahead moving forward. It will be absolutely beautiful! Love from 🇨🇦
Giuseppe will miss you when you move away. Will he visit? You can use a long sand or beanbag at the bottom of the doors when the wind is blowing.
❤
Busy, busy, busy lady! I loved the weather changes, just a little spooky. Great info as usual and another peek into your Italian Therapy!! Thanks for the entertainment and continued success on your channel and life in Italy. Will be watching!
What a wild, busy, vlog! You are really getting a lot done, Girl! Start on your Italian lessons, hopefully it won't be too hard for you to learn. So many new things going on. New place in a new town, in a new country, fixing the first place, mindboggling translating, and needing to get some basics down in Italian, Thank you so much for all this news! I just love your place you are going to rent. Peace & Love Gina!
❤ Your apartments are going to be even more amazing Gina !! I love the older windows and am glad you are keeping them, I like to look at them, I think they are beautifully designed.
Wow Gina a third video in a short time…love it! Was so glad to see another one! We have been having terrible wind all spring where i live in USA (Idaho). I have horrible doors and windows with farms all around me in the country! So the dust is a nightmare for this old lady to keep up with! Cant wait to find out about the offer on the other place etc! Take care until next time! Hope you finally got all your tax stuff taken care of…what a headache!❤❤❤
Omg how on earth does Italy function that is completely nuts
Here as I rent I pay usage the landlord pays the meter waste for water. I pay electricity and gas as bills come via the mailbox but paid online and in credit. Rates are done yearly that include garbage disposal etc. all in one easy but online a must only post office the other option
Great vlog Gina.
Yes renovating houses is hard work & often looks crazy looking in but when you are in the eye of the storm you know it will be calm again. I know.
More power to your elbow.💪.
It will be beautiful with the ceiling and part wall exposed.
Lots of storage at Torino di Sangro apt. We are on tenterhooks.
What a great 12 months to look forward to.
Rest & healing too.🙏👍🥰
Hi Gina! I realize that it's very in style to scrape all the plaster off and expose the vaulted ceilings, but I don't know if I'd do ALL of them if it were mine. The windows are fairly small in some areas, so I think I'd just keep some of the ceilings white if this was my place, or else the rooms can get to seeming pretty dark unless it's the perfect time of day and sun is streaming through the windows. Wow! You DID cram a lot into one day! Here's hoping you can enjoy some downtime now.😅
If this is the wind storm we had the other night, which some are calling a mini tornado. My windows flew open and scared me.
Italians don't desex their cats. Stupid, cats breed like mice
Loving your videos!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have the same balcony doors, the same problem but i love them. I love these old way of how they are made. I have a draught excluder, also for the autumn/winter. I have 4 balcony doors. I think a little draft is good for when i am not there, which is most of the time, to get no mold. My camino`s have these covers so the draft is not too much. I bought them in Italy at Casa & Co, they are in Pescara and Vasto and near Sulmona. I also put some isolation material for these doors. I have trees next to my casa, leaves go there but i don`t have a 90 year old nonna who watches everything.😊 Immu is 2 times a year, i always pay at the end of the year once. I have a lady who can go into the system and see what i have to pay and she prints it out and with this and i go the the post office and pay. The same papers like you. My commune did not want to do it.
Seriously Gina l love this apartment, I like it much better than any you looked at. That really was a wind and a half last night, being in a corner like that it will blow everything into your corner. I don’t know in the US or Italy if you have what we have here in Australia, I don’t know what they’re called, we call them snakes. It’s a round snake like thing, the length of the door and full of sand. Place it at the door inside and nothing can blow under. Oh the church bells, I must admit I’d not like to live close to them but I’d love to hear them in the distance. Love what they’re doing as my walking isn’t great, turns us off a lot of Italy because of all the steps. I’m glad you understood what she was saying I had ABSOLUTELY no idea even with her good English. This was a great video, a normal day in the life of Gina, it was very interesting. Thanks for taking us around, I’m pleased you’re not running around, a kinda taking it easy day. Take care lovely lady and I’ll see you again soon. 🥰
Paying property tax (IMU) and TARI is not that difficult. It's one of the easiest things in the Italian tax realm. You need to know the "rendita catastale" of your apartment, that you can find on your "visura catastale", as I heard the Comune employee telling you. Visura catastale should be in the documents of the purchase (Google image "visura catastale" an you can easily recognize the module). Those taxes have to be paid two times per year (16 June and 16 December). Since your payment will be late, there will also be a very small sanction to pay (ravvedimento operoso). Also, very very wrong information from the post office employee, because IMU and TARI payments have to be done with an F24 module (even online, when you will have an Italian bank account), not with a bank transfer (bonifico).
The reason why you are finding so many difficulties it's because, generally, Comune (especially small comunes) are not organized to handle that, nor required by the law. Unless you are able to do it yourself (it's very very easy and there are calculators available online), the calculation and the print of the F24 modules is done by a CAF (centro assistenza fiscale) for a small fee, or by a Geometra, or by an Accountant.
SERENDIPITY.
You met up with those chaps who were investigating the Camino from your little village to the coast at Fosacessia.
That is a great snip.
I wonder how difficult it would be on a bike. One chap did say they were looking at suitabilty for disabled people.
You could perhaps walk it in stages. Seeing the geometra & all trades helping you with refurb decisions.
Glad you are keeping the windows & doors.
Your renters will be ok with traditional appearance as long as bathrooms & kitchen are more contemporary.
What a lovely, clean commune – you are blessed to have found such an idyll – with mountain view.
Lots of info.
Brilliant content.
💪🙏👍🥰
