Built in 1860
Hidden in the French countryside, this castle stands on 22 acres of land, once filled with ambition, now left behind.
In 1996, a Swiss musician named Mr. Graf fulfilled his lifelong dream by buying this estate and moving here with his family. But he didn’t just want to live in a castle, he wanted to build something unique. His plan was to create a park with horses, offer carriage rides, and open a museum dedicated to historic carriages.
Traces of that vision are still visible today. Carriages remain stored in the barns, and parts of the estate feel frozen mid-project.
But restoring a castle like this comes at a cost. Over time, the scale became too much, and the dream slowly slipped away.
Join us as we explore this incredible place and uncover the story behind it.

Beautiful structure, so sad they are so costly to maintain. Spotted someone in the background @7.54 dressed in black, with a backpack. May have been filming too.
You have to be wealthy to afford to renovate them which can be millions then you have to maintain them which is very expensive. 😢😮
Hallo!
Life is all about loss & saying goodbye…
I feel it would have been much smarter to not purchase the horse carriages, and other antiques and focused solely on repairing the entire roofs, including the out buildings, windows and doors.
Proceed with renovations from the top floor to the basement. It’s important you can do some of the work yourself. He got the horse before his carriage as the old saying goes.
et si vous faites un tour la nuit pour voir s'il y'as des fantomes ou non?
There are many individuals that look to buy chateaus in France for renovation and live in them for B&Bs, etc.. This gentleman should start selling all his items to large brocantes in France that purposely buy items for other chateau owner that need items for their own renovations.. Just a thought to relay to this gentleman and his family that own this one.. I’ve watched many YouTube channels renovate chateaus that are just as bad as this one.. It’s an absolute shame that the items in this chateau are not being sold.. There are companies that could salvage everything from chandeliers, furniture, paneling, wood framings, marble fire places, etc..

Plenty left for a museum?
Omg Lesley I absolutely loved your intro when you were inside the carriage! Maybe your best entrance of all your videos and I have seen most of them. Thank you for this! Much love always!!!!! 🧡☺️🇺🇸
Hi guys. It is always so sad to see these beautiful places left behind to rot. There are so many in France and Italy. In some countries the government considers them historically valuable but nothing is ever done to save them. My heart goes out to the owner of this one. He tried but was overwhelmed by the sheer extent of the renovation in money, time and materials. Great video! Keep up the good videos.
I'm sure Carl is grateful that you guys are documenting his beautiful Château. I will watch this many many times. Thank you for letting us walk-through. ❤️
Please bring Carl those photo albums before someone takes them.
Looks like he tried to renovate without remembering the first cardinal rule before renovation. Always stop the the hemorrhage of decay by solidifying the roof first. But he would have needed to spend about 2 million first just to fix decayed parts of structure and then another 1.5 million for roof renovation. So expensive.
Seeing this happening to such a beautiful building, is actually kind of depressing. I like the channel but it always saddens me to see this happening. All the time and effort that went into building these, to see them so badly neglected… Sad.
A fundraiser to restore as a Museum!
He can get a lot of money with some of the stuff in there!! Especially the Funeral Carriage wow!
Thank you for showing us this beautiful dream that he had. A lot of people commented about not fixing the roof , no one knows the story. He worked hard to follow his dream. It looked like his family had a wonderful life living in his castle. Beautiful memories for him to relive now that he’s old.
Hello bros of decay I just started watching your videos they are incredible I just love old abandoned places I myself love to explore such places but I can’t anyways you guys doing amazing work showing the places where not everyone can reach thanks for sharing your videos appreciated 🙏🏽
I wish I could buy one of these abandoned mansion or castle n renovate it and open for locals 😢
What did you find! These original carriages are simply priceless! Wonderful room with the piano, half the castle habitable! A boutique. Hotel,It could easily be done there.let the world rejoice, and let it enjoy. Simply lovely,,!!!From Greece😊
Also, there are conservators for all of this. The carriages at Tatoi, on the royal estate, were all preserved after 60 years of abandonment. Who is the Why keep it, since he can't finish the renovation, and besides, they're stealing it? It's incomprehensible Or to sell it, before it collapses, to be completed. And to become the museum with the carriages, as he wanted, as a condition in the contract From Greece
👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
First thing they need to do when buying a castle is put on a new roof to stop the weather from destroying the bottom floors
Roof is always NUMBER ONE and it causes 90% of all damage.
Good place for Billy petherick. He could save it
Hope someone out there can save this castle .
