In Italy, pizza is all about balance, not excess. 🍕 Classic recipes like Pizza Margherita focus on just a few high-quality ingredients—tomato, mozzarella, and basil. With fewer toppings, the flavors of the dough, sauce, and cheese stand out more. That’s why authentic Italian pizza is simple, yet incredibly satisfying.

I had three pizzas in Italy and none had tomato sauce. I was very disappointed
I like pizza with a lot of toppings.
Pizza 🍕 is so popular in USA it isn't funny! Americans love toppings, I prefer mushrooms, black olives but will eat pepperoni 🍕
Well, Italian is entitled to their own opinion, so there's there.
I love dough sauce an cheese! Especially 3 cheese pizza!
I like simple pizzas a lot, particularly if the toppings are high quality. Margarita is one of my favorites, but I also like many topping-heavy pizzas on occasion too, especially when I am very hungry and craving a large meal at lunch to get me through a work day.
Though I have room for any kind of pizza 😊
Swedish pizza for the win, kebab pizza with two sauce toppings and pizza with chicken banana and curry powder
I worked in an Italian restaurant in New York. If someone ordered a pizza with more than two toppings we made it, but the owner (named Guido) grumbled the whole time.

I disagree.
I am Italian and I always try to get as many toppings as possible, as long as they go well together! In italian pizzerias you will also find pizzas with more than 4 toppings.
