I visited the Helsinki Wine & Food Fair to see how food, culture, and travel intersect across Finland and the Nordic region. What I found were some surprising global connections – including a Finnish berry winery founded by Americans, and a French vineyard owned by a Finnish family.
In this video, I talk with both wineries about how place and tradition shape what ends up in the glass. I also caught one of the fair’s most entertaining traditions – the annual grape stomping competition – and interviewed the winners right after their victory.
Events like this show how travel isn’t just about destinations. It’s about the stories, people, and flavors that connect cultures in unexpected ways.
