With an altitude of 1,492 meters, Mottarone is a granite mountain that straddles the Maggiore and Orta lakes, between the provinces of Novara and Verbania.

A record mountain
Mottarone has a history rich in important events. In 1909 one of the first Italian sciclubs was founded on the summit.
The first edition of an international ski race in Italy, the “Golden Cup of the Duce” takes place here, in 1935. In the same year, the disciplines of jumping from the trampoline and slalom were practiced for the first time in Italy in the official race. giant.
In the 1940s, the first “sled lift”, a rudimentary ascent system, was seen here.
The Mottarone park
Biking, trekking, paragliding, climbing in summer and snowshoeing in winter are some of the activities within the Mottarone Park. Bar Stazione and Mottarone Adventure Park are part of a larger project that concerns the recovery plan supported by Prince Vitaliano Borromeo to safeguard and enhance an ancient widespread heritage of traditional mountain architecture, located on the east side of the Mottarone.
The interventions paid great attention to the ecological and faunal peculiarities of the area, in order to encourage the establishment and maintenance of the local animal species, in addition to improving, requalifying and preserving the wooded area.
A viewpoint on Lake Maggiore immersed in a unique and evocative natural environment is the scenery surrounding the Bar Station and the adjacent Mottarone Adventure Park.
