Soave is definitely one of the forgotten gems in the Italian white wine scene. It is made from Garganega grape variety and its most ageworthy and notable examples come from the historic Soave Classico region. Soave wines deserve much more attention from us, wine lovers and enthusiasts!

Good video. I think there are lots of wine styles that suffer from this, prosecco and cava being two. Lots of it is rubbish but there are some amazing producers of these styles. I like videos that dispel some of these myths. Thanks for the content.
Always great useful videos
Never tried this kind before. Now that you are so enthusiastic, I immediately ordered 2 bottles of Prà Otto Soave Classico 2022….. I am very curious. Greetings from Amsterdam
I agree, greatly underrated area. Back in the day, 25 years ago, most Soave was sold in 1.5L's and was not considered a serious wine. I sold Pieropan and Pasqua 1.5's then, and Pieropan was a challenging hand sell. I usually have either Pra Otto or Tamellini on hand. Would have Pieropan on hand if I still had wholesale access (still my fave). In a way I kind of don't want it to become more popular, the price will just go up, but it deserves better recognition
Can't wait to try more wines from Soave ❤
Not that expensive (yet)- CHECK…Can be drank young or wait 10 years-CHECK… seems to be around 12% from a quick search-CHECK. I mean…check all my boxes why don't you. 👀
It's now on my list to try. Thanks!
I have tried Soave many times and it is always bland and massively over-rated in my eyes. The one exception was when I visited the lovely town of Soave when staying in Verona (travelling by trolley bus – remember them?) and enjoyed a superb lunch there, accompanied by a carafe of Soave.
Pieropan is the same price as some Burgundies (although I wouldn't compare the two regions) nowadays. I drank a Coveffe fairly recently and it didn't change my opinion of Soave. Sorry to have to disagree with you – perhaps I haven't tried enough good examples but there is so much good white wine around, why keep trying?
Beautiful conical bunch. And those pergola are trained high! Super video. And great wines, still or sweet!
dear Agnes 8 visited Soave Village at the end of April and i got a lot of fun visiting coffele and Pieropan… great value for the Money…Bye .
Very well done. I enjoy Soave but the good ones are hard to find where I live.
Call me a fan. I like Soaves! And my wife and I opened a Suavia Monte Carbonare Soave Classico just two nights ago, and killed it quickly. 🙂 Suavia's Monte Carbonare is a really good example of a Classico, and I highly recommend.
I had never heard of Soave before. Thanks for the intro!
Yes, Inama is good.
I tasted a beautiful Soave a decade ago at Tenuta Santa Maria di Gaetano Bertani. Haven't tasted it since.
Question: are all the vines in this region trained in high Pergola style?
Is there a reason for that?
Soave Classico makes some of my favorite white wine.
Good stuff. Didn't even know it existed. Put Prà Monte Grande Soave Classico 2020 @27 EUR on my to buy list.
Soave is a new opportunity for me, too, as others have said before me, and I am looking forward to trying some new things, hopefully some good offerings, from this area, if I can even find them. Unfortunately, I am limited to what I can readily try, by my budget, which, as you well know, Agnes, is the bane of any wine lover's existence, especially for those who enjoy trying new things! I love catching your videos, as you always have wonderful information to share along with your beautiful smile!
I was wrong about Soave too. I really enjoy it these days!!
You're the most beautiful and knowledgeable wine YouTuber in the world. I have no need for other wine videos or publications save you. You're my everything! 🍷🍾🥂
Ha, I ordered a case of Pieropan a few days ago, now looking forward to it (it is due to be delivered tomorrow) even more following your review – brilliant timing Agnese, keep up the good (excellent) work..
I really appreciate you highlight Soave Classico. Decades back Soave was known for cheap simple white wines, literally the cheapest you could buy in the supermarket. And usually they were uninspiring flat wines. I rediscovered this beautiful wine area east of Verona about ten years ago via a bottle of Ca' Rugate San Michèle. Such a pleasant fruity balanced wine for about 12 euro. Great afforable daily wine which combines well with all sorts of food.
You're the most beautiful Baltic Woman ever!
one day you will agree how wrong you have been for liking Barolos !!
I would add Soave iconic producer Gini with its La Frosca and Contrada Salvarenza "Vecchie Vigne".
A lot of good information
A bottle or two of Soave are always in my fridge.
Aromatics are very important as to whether I will like a wine style and good Soave delivers.
Can you do a review on the wine Russian Jack?
Very nice overview of Soave, with focus on specific vintners. I didn't know that appassimento was used with Soave, nor that chardonnay was allowed in the mix. Great detail in a brief video. Grazie mille, Agnes!
Picked up a bottle today. Not terribly impressed.
Love Soave
Our experiences with Soave here in Melbourne are wines with hugely differing characteristics – some are wonderful and others, hmm
i came across this interesting channel , hope you talk about white Lugana too
