  1. Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, died on 24 June 1604, was initially buried at Hackney, but then later — according to his cousin Percival Golding — "lieth buried at Westminster" — and the late great Alexander Waugh made the case that the exact spot where he was buried in Westminster was beneath the Shakespeare statue in Poets Corner that was placed there in 1740, in the company of Beaumont, Chaucer, and Spenser.

@kevinjamesparr552's comment below — "rECORDS state 17th Earl died penniless in London and is buried in Cheapside churchyard" — is baseless. Oxford's financial situation greatly improved when he married Elizabeth Trentham, and NOBODY ever said he was buried in Cheapside churchyard.

  2. As soon as you see Mary Ann you know that it is Dumb Team not Time Team. These last shows were unwatchable. You can feel the tension behind the scenes. So sad…

  3. Future generations will look back a this time with dismay as that time when archaeology was done against the clock according to a tv producer’s priorities.

  4. I'm glad he didn't but, with the "shirt philosophy", Phil could've gone into that field instead. Mick with the buttons. Pure gold.

  5. 'Time Team' was Never Fan Funded. The archaeologists and presenters were all employed by a production company who had a TV contract.
Anyone who 'joins on Patreon' is just being grifted by a copy and paste crew who recycle the old TV show.

  6. Alex Langland needs to learn that a gentleman does not wear a hat indoors, and a gentleman definitely removes his hat in church! And by “hat” I refer to any male head covering. Ladies are allowed to retain their hats in church.

  7. Phil- Bury the shirt and the buttons when you fill in the trench. That way an archaeologist in 600 years will wonder where the skull is or whether it's a ritual deposit…

  8. OK clean person with the semi decent ass, grab a pixaxe and make it look like you are doing something. Way too clean, show the real diggers more TimeTeam

  9. Edward DeVere didn't spend all his money, it was robbed from him by the Cecil's and Queen Elizabeth while he was a ward of court.

  10. To be honest, I have nothing against fakes, I know some people do just that. A friend introduced me to the kisluxs some time ago. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the most perfect bag I have ever seen.
