and now get ready for the return of one of San Diego’s most popular foodie events Taste of Little Italy it’s back on June 18th and 19 so soon so here to tell you all about it the district manager of the Little Italy Association we have Gris Gomez here and the participating restaurants Bayside Kitchen and Bar and Allegro I’m so glad all of you are here making me drool this morning Chris this is incredible you know it’s a good Mexican Italian breakfast what can we say we like to bring it to the table it’s like you knew my stomach was growling and now it’s going to be odd uh so I’m excited to talk about this because we know Little Italy has some of the best restaurants in San Diego I mean we do right you’re allowed to show off about that no tell us what people can expect for the taste of Little Italy well we have two days you can come Tuesday or Wednesday uh tickets are selling fast um but the great thing is is each day you get a tasting of 20 different restaurants Wow 20 different ones yeah and it’s it’s great culinary uh experience you have different um tastes that you’re going to be able to get into from obviously traditional Italian contemporary Italian but we also have international cuisine to Chef are joining us this year a variety so 20 different ones places you may not have ever tried before this is your chance to get it all in uh so people do need to buy passports in advance yeah get your tickets online um and then what they would go is to the P De La Familia and pick up your passport and that gives your road map to where to go and how fun is that to have a passport through Little Italy there you go you know it’s like you’re going through Venice just get your stamps along the way totally minus the crazy crowds I mean this will be busy but exactly all right let’s talk about these restaurants that are here good morning tell me your name morning I’m Isel Hernandez I’m the chef at Bayside Kitchen and Bar and L early and we’re excited to be here um Isel tell me Bayside Bar and Grill Bar and Kitchen and Bar Kitchen and Bar thank you bide Kitchen and Bar uh what do you serve there we serve modern American Cuisine we’re part of the Hilton basite campus so if you ever want to do a station and have a nice breakfast a nice dinner hang around little itly we’re the spot for it that’s perfect and what do you have here this morning so today we’re going to be making you’re going to help me make a taco doing this we’re going to do a taco so obviously we’ll do a tortilla that’s for you nice thank you then we’ll do a little bit of Carnitas this been brazing since 4: a.m. there you go really brazing since 4:00 a.m. you been up that early I woke up at two but it’s okay you know that’s more me work a morning shift you likeo love it all yes load it up a little bit of that wacamole because here in California we love avocado right let’s do one chili and one beautiful Rish all right can I take a bite of I mean you’ve been brazing since early morning while I take a bite I see you have beverages it’s like know me I just had that feeling okay so we actually brought our BAS cooler good excellent we have we have more for you uh we actually brought our bide cooler which is made with a clam it’s a local Distillery so you trying to support local businesses appil Co Americano lemon juice and a little bit of ginger ale wow so we’ll do that for you I love it you know this is the way to start your next level amazing this is a way to start your morning right so we’ll do that real quick beautiful all right like I like that little touch thank you very much cheers I might just drink it on my own I you know I’ll follow you with it real quick you know for a little bit why not let’s quick cheers to Little Italy together but yeah no this is incredible the tacos the drinks so people can try this when they come out there on during the taste of little right yeah Che perfect you got to try that thank you mhm delicious right oh I love it all right and now we have algro good morning to you this looks amazing too oh my gosh this is going to be a feast H tell me what you serve here so we serveon ciliani this is what we’re going to serve for The Taste of Italy so is a Italian sausage cherry tomatoes marinada sauce little bit of mozzarella on top these are amazing portions by the way H the regular portion it’s going to be small but you know it’s going to be a fun fun event I’m sure the enjoy and those the pasta looks really good yeah these are Medi P okay so a pasta traditional from south of Italy and it’s delicious and then you have this giant the cheese wheel I brought the cheese wheel because at the restaurant we serve a table side we have a special pasta we do papel with a creamy porini mushroom and we toast it in the parmesan wheel table side is good for two people we do we can do also for one people I’ve been there and enjoyed this so our viewers at home you have to do it it’s so good it’s amazing and you have have drinks I drinks so I brought this we are going toward to the summer so it’s almost summer even it’s raining outside a little bit but we have this Spritz flight okay so we have a grapefruit Ruby grapefruit okay okay so we’re going to do we have 20 seconds left so and going to do a blood orange oh wow and a leonello of course Lon cello thank you very much I’m going to go ahead and help myself if you don’t you cannot miss the prco of course the prco I’m going to the second one and cheers to Little Italy and everyone get your tickets cuz these are going to sell out fast sell out $55 55 bucks
