    Hello, i'm french ,y leave near the place you visit . My wife tell me , take the adress of the pizzeria in Portofolio because we don't go in nest time we go in Italie; you pay x2,5 the price off very good pizzeria in Aix en Provence. Have a nice day and travel for you

    You will not be served pizza in an ltalian  restaurant. Why? Because a restaurant isn’t a pizzeria.
    Many restaurants simply do not serve pizza. In Italy, you will find three main types of billboards outside restaurants:

    Ristorante: this indicates a traditional restaurant, typically fairly to very expensive, in an elegant setting, with complete table service. Normally, pizza is not served in this type of restaurants.

    Trattoria: this indicates a tavern, which is usually a proper restaurant but with a more homely service. Usually cheaper than a fully fledged restaurant, pizza may be served, but maybe not.

    Pizzeria: this indicates a place where only pizza is served. Sometimes you can order cold starters and usually they will also serve sweet and ice cream but that’s about it. Typically this is the cheapest type of restaurant where you can eat but the menu is limited to pizza, even if there can be dozens of variants of it.

    Then there is the Ristorante Pizzeria: it means that you can order both restaurant food and pizza.

    So strange smoking is allowed on board…
    It's against european laws (at least in the countries I know about). And in my mind whenever the ship in in port in falls under the locals countries law.

    Go to Portofino and pay Portofino prices. We were there about 5 years back and I almost gagged at the price I paid for a quick lunch around that same spot you were. But, it's a huge tourist trap and utterly beautiful. We stayed 10-15 minutes by boat just round the corner of the coast in Rapallo and food was really superb and half the price. Had a lovely day trip to Portofino. It's a special place.

    BTW, you were so assertive for you Mom to use the App on her phone that translate English into Thai, why haven’t you used that App while in Italy, asking for Pizza?? You mentioned you asked, said they put their head down, said they probably don’t sell Pizza?? Something like that. BOTTOM LINE there was a language barrier. Just curious, or did you forget you have that app??
