I have been making Pizza for quite some time now for my family and friends. I recently chanced upon a video where Vito Iacopelli shared his secret to awesome pizza! – Poolish starter! Poolish starter is a pre-fermented starter to raise the bread.
So I decided to give it a try and the results were amazing! It requires patience, time, and energy but trust me the results will be satisfying. Do give it a shot and share your experiences.
Ingredients:
Poolish starter:
– 200g water
– 200g pizza flour (tipo 00 / manitoba if you can find one)
– 5g dry yeast
– 1 tsp honey
Pizza dough:
– 500g pizza flour
– 300g water
– 20g salt
Toppings:
– Mozzarella
– veggies of your choice (I used mushrooms, olives, green capsicum, onions as my family liked this combo)
