About the resort:
The Grand Riviera Princess is a 5-star hotel in Riviera Maya with one of the best beachfront locations in the area, allowing guests a comfortable and unique way of enjoying the fine sand and clear waters. Only 10 minutes from Playa del Carmen and the Municipality of Solidaridad, 40 minutes from the airport, and near all of the most interesting and exciting attractions. The Platinum rooms are located in an exclusive beachfront area and provide all of the facilities and amenities exclusive to the Platinum Zone. For larger families we have the Family Club Room Pool Access, ideal thanks to their exclusive services and spaciousness. The hotel also has several function rooms, making it perfect for hosting fun-packed family parties, celebrations or meetings.
About the food review:
The hotel offers a wide range of themed restaurants with both buffet and alacarte options, just perfect for both adults and children. Withing these restaurants, you may select both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. My husband and I were both vegetarians and we didn’t face any problems.
It’s very important to note here: there is a dress code for each restaurant and you must comply with it. Guests may not allow to visit the buffet restaurants in swimsuits. Also, you must make a reservation to go to all alacarte restaurants. You may book those at the concierge area. These alcarte options are available for night only … in the breakfast & lunch you need to enjoy in the buffet restaurants.
Buffet restaurants: Restaurant green, Restaurant orange, Snack Sunset, Snack Riviera (unfortunately when I went here only SS and SR restaurants were open & others were closed).
These are the A la Carte Restaurants: La Vaqueria (grill restaurant), Mama Mia (Italian restaurant), La Hacienda (Mexican restaurant), La Fondue (swiss themed restaurant), Miso (Asian restaurant), Las Olas (sea food restaurant), La Fleur (gourmet restaurant), & Chill Out Restaurant. So this is the best thing and every day you can enjoy different types of cuisines.
The snack riviera buffet offers continental breakfast and lunch options. This buffet is especially for platinum folks only and it’s by the side of the pool area. The snack sunset offers options for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. All these two restaurants offer scrumptious veg & non-veg dishes and a variety of tasty cakes, ice creams, pastries, & other lip-smacking desserts. There are live counters as well in all of these buffet restaurants where you can ask the chef to prepare omelet, pasta, & other dishes. The buffet restaurants also offer a variety of options in pizzas, hash browns, bacon, salads, Caribbean dishes & almost whatever you wish for. You may also enjoy local food options such as Tacos with salsa & guacamole, Chilaquiles, Enchiladas, & many more dishes.
Apart from lavish food, the resort also offers unlimited drink options – Domestic, international & premium brand drinks (Aged liquors, wines, and a la carte champagne were not included). There are many bars in the resort …here you can see (image). However, I went to the bar in the platinum lounge, at the princess main lobby area, Grand Sunset main lobby area, & sport bar 5th avenue. In all of these & other bars you can ask the bartender to make any drink of your choice. Also, if you are staying in the platinum suite then on the beach you will get access to a reserved area with butler service for drinks. Even if you are staying in other suit you will get drinks but you will have to get it yourself from the bar and there will be no one serving on your seat. Even while having breakfast and lunch you can ask for drinks and the staff will serve it to you on your table. There is also a poolside bar and may enjoy your drinks while relaxing in the swimming pool.
