Among the world-famous ruins of Baalbek is a temple dedicated to Bacchus, the Roman God of Wine. It is wholly fitting that in the vicinity of this grand temple there is a land that has waited centuries for a poetic visionary to see into its soul, to recognize its historical importance and potential as an integral part of this most luxurious wine-growing region of the Mediterranean Basin.
We happened onto this land and what it inspired in us is “Chateau Trois Collines”. It was inevitable that this paradise would be restored to its glorious past. Centuries of passion and poetry steeping in the rich soil culminated in the creation of wines fit for a Roman God.
We are proud and honored to be its ambassadors and to bring these creations to your table.
At Chateau Trois Collines we have great confidence in the ancient and noble land with which we have been entrusted. It is out of respect for this setting that we dedicated ourselves to bringing together a harmonious and knowledgeable group of experts who will enhance this perfect environment for creating the finest wines in the region. This expertise and passionate oversight of our estate-grown vines promises meticulously cared for vintages and ensures sustainability, culminating in a rich wine selection of the highest quality.
The hills and slopes of Chateau Trois Collines inspired us to explore this majestic land and our role in enhancing nature’s gift. That was the beginning of a journey that has taken us from vision to creation. Along the way we searched out the people whose experience and passion could harmoniously come together to be the team that would lead us to realize our vision. We are proud to associate ourselves with this distinguished group. We know you will delight in their expertise with each bottle of Chateau Trois Collines wine you bring to your table.
Lebanon is a country immensely rich in history. For almost 2000 years, the Temple of Baachus, the Roman God of Wine, has stood as the largest Roman edifice outside Italy. Dating back even further, more than 4000 years ago the Phoenicians introduced their grape growing expertise and wine making skills to other parts along their trade routes, launching their enterprise from the shores of what is now Lebanon. The Phoenicians and their descendants spread their commercial reach to include parts of North Africa, as well as the Greek Isles and other parts of modern day Europe such as France, Spain and Italy. This combined history is testament to the role the region played in the creation and evolution of one of the world’s most enjoyed libations. It goes without saying that wine making has had an exponentially dramatic impact on the world, both culturally and commercially.
Since the time of the Phoenicians many cultures have made their way to this region and inevitably influenced cultural and social practices. During these transitional periods wine production in Lebanon declined drastically, allowing other countries to forge ahead in this sphere, establishing themselves as expert wine makers. However, the lull in Lebanon’s wine history was followed by a resurgence in wine making in the 1800’s. Since that time Lebanon has re-established itself, utilizing resources that have been part of its historical importance, to experience a renaissance in wine production.
