PIZZA HUT vs DOMINO’S vs PAPA JOHN’S – Pizza Delivery Taste Test | Miami, FL

My family and I are continuing to practice social distancing during the global COVID-19 pandemic. Occasionally, to give us a break from cooking, we’ve been ordering out, so Ana and I decided to make some fun videos to show our current situation while incorporating one of my favorite things: food! Join us as we do an epic Pizza Hut vs. Domino’s vs. Papa John’s pizza delivery taste test from our home in South Miami, Florida!

We usually have pizza a couple of times a month because we love it so much, but since the pandemic started, we hadn’t had any. We decided to remedy that by ordering large pizzas from America’s top pizza chains: Pizza Hut, Domino’s, and Papa John’s, and comparing them with a fun taste test! We both grew up with Pizza Hut, but later I started loving Papa John’s (especially their jalapenos) and Domino’s as well. Lately, we’d been having Domino’s.

We ordered all of our pizzas online so we wouldn’t have to go out. We put in our specifications and tried to keep the toppings at least somewhat similar to keep it fair. Then, it was time to wait for the pizzas to arrive! All three arrived within ten minutes of each other, starting with Papa Johns, then Pizza Hut, and finally Domino’s.

All three pizzas looked so delicious. The Papa John’s pizza only came with one jalapeno, but that was OK. We started with the Domino’s pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olive pizza. It took me back to my childhood! It had a big burst of tomato sauce and contained a lot of cheese as well. I also loved the black olives, which weren’t too strong. The crust also had some garlic powder on it. I tasted everything but the pepperoni; all of the other toppings overpowered it. The crust was our favorite part of the pizza. It was delicious!

Next, we went with the Papa John’s meat lover’s pizza. I started with the jalapeno. They used to give you two, but now they only give one. It came with garlic dipping sauce. It’s basically melted butter! This pizza comes with bacon, pepperoni, and sausage. We both dipped it into the sauce, which had an overwhelming amount of garlic flavor. It was a loaded pizza. Each bite was filled with all of the different meats. The crust wasn’t too special, but it was fluffy. It had less sauce than the Domino’s pizza, but they didn’t skimp on the toppings at all. The sauce was so good, I had to dip again!

Lastly, we went with the Pizza Hut. It didn’t look the same as it did when we were kids. My brother and I used to eat all-you-can-eat at their buffet! I wasn’t a huge fan of it. It didn’t have a lot of cheese on it, just a thin layer. It was also light on the sauce. The crust was doughier and chewier and didn’t taste bad, but it was just OK.

The Papa Johns and Domino’s had Ana’s favorite crusts. The Pizza Hut was our least favorite overall. Overall, Ana and I loved the Papa John’s the best because of the hand-tossed crust, the sauce, the jalapenos, and the quality of the toppings. Domino’s was number 2 for me, and Pizza Hut at number 3.

I recommend tipping your pizza delivery person a minimum of 15% since they’re going out during a pandemic to deliver your food.
