Divine Dining & Drinks at H-E-B’s Table 57!

One of the hottest new places to dine — the grocery store! H-E-B opened its first chef driven in-store restaurant in San Antonio at the new Stone Oak H-E-B, The Market at Stone Oak. In Houston, star chef Randy Evans crafted the menu at Table 57, a casual, sit down restaurant with very low prices at the new H-E-B on San Felipe. It comes complete with its very own Wine Cellar.

That’s where we took our cameras. Check out the video above!

H-E-B is known for its inventive, inviting store locations, but this space is unlike any we’ve experienced thus far! Table 57 is a REAL, fully-functioning restaurant and the food is fantastic. In fact, the comprehensive menu is inspired by one of Houston’s most beloved and popular chefs, Randy Evans.

So far the response has been stellar, and we can see why! In addition to daily-catch entrées, artisan sandwiches and the like, there’s a bar with 8 rotating Texas craft beers on tap, Happy Hour specials, live music, plus Sunday brunch.

Everything at Table 57 is super affordable with no menu item over $20. You can even tackle Chef Randy’s famous Creole Shrimp & Grits [below] for only $15! That’s wild gulf shrimp sautéed in a New Orleans BBQ sauce and served with chipotle cheddar stone-ground grits.

Another popular entry is Table’s healthy (and flavorful!) Tuscan Grilled Tuna salad. Imagine Tuscany on a plate with sliced ahi tuna on top of a salad of cannellini beans, Tuscan kale, shaved fennel & roasted red peppers tossed in a lemon pesto dressing…

Not to be outdone by the star attraction, however, the barbecue! As Chef Randy confirms, this is True Texas BBQ. We’re talking everything from tender, all-natural Angus brisket slow-smoked over Post Oak to the Boneless Pork Belly Ribs that have us already fantasizing about our next bite.

Customers can also order BBQ by the pound to-go and still collect on all of the fixin’s…loaded baked potatoes, aged cheddar mac n’ cheese, creamed corn…you name it!

Now, make any excuse to get a shopping list together and grab a gourmet meal on your next visit. Tell’em Tanji sent you 😉 .
