New York has plenty of opinions about Italian food and pasta in particular, but now Yelp has added its own: two NYC businesses landed in the top 10 of its first-ever ranking of America’s best pasta places.

Brooklyn’s Forma Pasta Factory took No. 3, while Borgatti’s Ravioli & Egg Noodles in the Bronx claimed No. 10. The list covers 100 restaurants, markets and pasta shops nationwide, giving equal billing to places that cook your dinner and those that send you home with the ingredients.

Forma’s original Greenpoint shop blends a pasta-making operation with a fast-casual restaurant, so you can watch the noodles come together before getting acquainted with them over lunch. Chef Amit Rabinovich’s dough uses New York City tap water—the same ingredient that gets so much credit for our bagels—and the pasta is extruded and air-cured for up to 72 hours, according to Yelp. The business also has a Fort Greene location and sells pasta for home cooking. Yelp reviewers singled out dishes including spaghetti pomodoro and pipette ragu.

Up in the Bronx’s Little Italy, Borgatti’s has considerably more history behind its counter. Lindo and Maria Borgatti founded the shop in 1935, bringing pasta-making traditions from Bologna, Italy. More than nine decades later, the family business remains a destination for ravioli and egg noodles, with grandson Chris Borgatti running the operation. Borgatti’s sells individual pastas and freezer-ready bundles, meaning a trip to the neighborhood can cover several future dinners.

New York and Washington tied for the most entries statewide, with nine businesses apiece. Other New York honorees include Bigoi Venezia at No. 14, Un Posto Italiano at No. 18 and Pastosa Ravioli at No. 21. The overall winner was The Pasta Shop in Denville, New Jersey, followed by Eataliana Homemade Pasta in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Yelp built the ranking using businesses in its pasta shops category, weighing review ratings and volume and limiting each state to 10 entries. It also reported that searches for “pasta shops” rose 52% from September 2025 through August 2026 compared with the previous year.

With National Pasta Day coming on October 17, consider this permission to make dinner plans—and clear a little room in the freezer.
