The old Senate restaurant space at Summit Park is vacant no more. D’Oro, a new restaurant from chef Alfio Gulisano, opened at the popular Blue Ash park this week, serving short rib Bolognese, spaghetti and meatballs and empanadas, among other things.

This is Gulisano’s third restaurant in Greater Cincinnati and the first in the suburbs. He opened the wildly popular Alfio’s Buon Cibo on Hyde Park Square in 2012, followed, years later, by Noche, which opened in the former Richs’s Proper space in Covington, in 2025. Along with Gulisano, all three restaurants are co-owned by Jennifer Birt and Michelle O’Brien.

“With this concept, we are trying to be more family friendly,” O’Brien told The Enquirer. “We are leaning into Summit Park and the general atmosphere of Blue Ash.”

In a first for the restaurant group, D’Oro will offer lunch, though not until Oct. 24. “It’s also the first time we will have a kid’s menu,” O’Brien said.

Given that Summit Park is a Dora district, D’Oro will also offers cocktails (think negronis and other aperitivo-style beverages) to go, as well as an extensive wine list drawing from more than 300 selections, all hand picked by Alfio’s Buon Cibo’s sommelier. The owners also worked with Cincinnati Pergola on a four-season patio that will be available for seating all year long.

Like Alfio’s and Noche, D’Oro’s menu draws from Italian and Argentine traditions, with handmade pastas, steaks, empanadas and other sharable dishes.

“We wanted D’Oro to feel special without requiring a special occasion,” O’Brien said in a press release announcing the opening. “There’s a lot of intention behind the food, the wine, the cocktails and the way we take care of people, but we also want this to become a place people come back to often.”
